Alfasud 1.5 Thermostat is there an alternative?

I have an Alfasud 1.5 engine with a sealed thermostat body. I have been unable to find a replacement anywhere online. Are these now discontinued and is there an alternative? Had anyone tried to split the body and reseal it , chemical metal or the like?

Any help appreciated.

This is from my 33 1.5. Technically the same part. Mine has the valve removed by cutting around and welding again. No issues, just takes a bit more time to heat up.

So on yours the actual internals were removed and then resealed.
