Yeah i know doorthings, but i dont know the english name for them but when you see the pics it gets clear what i sprayed
I think it looks great now, and yes i still love my car that is why i take good care of it.
O yeah i had to sacrifice my royal kushens for it and some bedsheats ''laughing''
Going to do all the black plastic when i have time.

I did exactly the same on mine. Had to rust proof a tiny spot, then primed with etch Primer, and Wilko Satin Black rattle can, which is great stuff.

Looks like the OP has sprayed the rubber between his door things!

No i didnt, i used frog tape for that but you cant see it.
Its good tape so the paint doesnt kreep onder the tape with a bad result
Used spray putty before the Matt black Motip spraycan.

picture from a distance, still looks good for an old(er) car.

That's a task for later this year then.

I don't know what you'd call them - door pillar trims? something like that??

Well you were halfway there!

However, nothing will ever beat the German name for an exhaust tailpipe trim - auspuffblenden

Yeah that kind of discribes them, looked in EPER but cant find a pic that discribes them.
Went to a stealer first but they asked over €400 to replace them, so i did it myself for €40, material cost.
I think that i can spray all the black plastic like the parafan etc etc with 1 spray can.
So dont go to a stealer when you can do it yourself, saves you allot of money.

Considering the opaque silver finished top to the Giulietta gearknob is listed as a “lens” I would not expect much logic in what the ricambi folk call it!

That is indeed a weird discription for that, o wel as they say in the Asterix and Obelisk comics "weird poeple the Romans"
In my languesh "rare jongens die Romeinen"

As there's obviously no consensus on the English term for them, they will henceforth be known throughout the English-speaking world as doorthings, and in the Oxford English dictionary the derivation will be shown simply as "Marty."

I am honoured, but going to check that the next time i go to Oxford.
I hope that i dont get to disapointed tho when i find out that i didnt inhance the English languesh with my very Dutch name.
Next thing on my list is a mail to the ricambi folks with a link to this topic so they can change EPER to ;o)

It looks bloody fantastic even for a newer car!

I can't find the post, but someone on here said something like "Alfas from 10 years ago still look fresh compared to their competitors of the time".

Your car is a prime example of that. Love it. Love the doorthings.

Thanks and i agree good design is timeless and some elbow greese etc does wonders to.
The 156 i had before this one was the same, but the rustdevil got it.
Very crisspy on the bottom.
