Brera S Prodrive Exhausts Tips - Removing Powder-coat

Hey guys - long time watcher, first time poster!

Finally got my hands on a low(ish) milage Brera S which has clearly had a re-spray at some point, which would be fine - had they not touched the exhaust tips...

Yes, as the title suggests, the previous owner had powder-coated the tips and I'd like to bring them back to original.

Any tips :)tired:) on how best to do this without damaging the finish underneath?

Thoughts much appreciated!

Rob

Originals are chromed right? I suspect the chrome was already damaged before they were powder coated.
removing the powder coating can be done with paint stripper or heat, but both may damage the chrome. Also I doubt heat will work since it might be the "special kind" that is sometimes used for calipers or manifolds.

I would say your only option would be to get them rechromed they would strip off the old as part of the process as well, unfortunately chroming plants now are few and far between but a few still around.
I would agree with the previous poster why would you powder coat them if they were tidy?
