Alfa 159 1.9 JTS

Asr unavailable car wont start

Got into the car this morning and tried to start it, its turning over but just wont start, getting asr/abs unavailable.
Its a 159 jts 1.9. Iv disconnected the battery for 10 min but still wont start.

That is the sort of issue you get when battery on way out or earths are corroded. Have a check of earths use a jump lead from battery neg to a decent ground point see if that makes a difference.
Also have you checked the fuses make sure nothing has popped?

Have you checked fuses and earth points?

Checked all the fuses under the bonnet using a test light earthed from the battery they were all fine, same for the fuses under the steering wheel. Car is up for sale now, it will be gone as soon as i can sort this out.

I can't imagine that the non functioning ASR will be what is stopping your car from starting...more like the other way...you car won't start...so your ASR is being starved of the power it needs to function. Downloading the fault codes will tell you what's wrong...and go from there. At the end of the day it will run if it has a spark and fuel...(not very well cus it's a crappy 1.9 JTS...but it will run after a fashion...just joking!)...so you need to find which one is missing. CODES FIRST!
