I had a link to the manual in my dropbox, i published the public link on here last week...

I got an email from dropbox yesterday suspending me for excessive download traffic lol. So be careful!

You may want to try a different share site.

What are you using? Chrome / Explorer...? firefox?

I've tested it now and it works, others have downloaded too without any problems.

No thanks. Got through my antivirus, downloaded three programs I didn't want, and hijacked my homepage.

I've downloaded it, downloaded winzip to extract the rar file, now it converts it to another type of file my comp cannot open!

Can anyone give me an idiots guide to how to get the download to open? I do mean an idiots guide

156 all models engineers manual (download link)

Ok, looks like i got more than i bargained for!

Its an NRG file from memory, which means its a type of image file.

You can do one of two things, use nero to burn an image to cd and then you run the software from the cd.

Or you can mount the cd to a virtual drive, i use poweriso, google it, its free.

So, just extract the rar file you downloaded to some place on your pc, once done, go to the extracted file, left click (assuming you've installed poweriso) and choose: poweriso then mount...

Then, you'll see on the left of your file explorer a new cd drive, open it and install the software.

Once installed it will place an icon on ur desktop which is the application file. But each time you run it, you need to remount that nrg file again.

So if i were u, burn the image to cd, and just install the cd whenever u require the software

You can use most cd burning software packages to burn cd images to cd, Nero is one, poweriso will also do it and its freeware.

Sorry i using mu iPhone, my instructions are stilted i know!

Ill write clearer ones when I'm at my computer later today.

When you buy the manual from ebay, it comes on cd already so you don't need to jump through these hoops, but as this is a download, it's been converted to a cd image file, so this cant be avoided.

I have no idea what your talking about. Its a compressed rar file with an nrg image file inside. Theres no other software other than the manual in it.

Its been through three separate virus scanners on my system with no flags.

I use the manual regularly without any problems at all. As do many people on here.

Massive Thanks again for your help

Sorry to be a pain, but I've tried to follow your instructions but still not sorted it.

I'm not sure how I got here but I have:

Downloaded WinRAR
Downloaded the file (icon is three books with a belt around it)
Downloaded PowerISO - I don't have CD drive on this notebook, so it has successfully created a D:/ drive

I can't click on the file and "mount"?? I can't find a 'mount' option. I've tried extracting it with WinRAR and it simply turns into a garbled text doc containing something about NERO (I have NERO on my old desktop PC but really want to get it on this notebook)

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Sorry to be a pain.

PS - If I click on the file, then 'extract to' and then select D Drive (CD), it simply says 'please insert disc'

PPS - OS is Win XP if that helps?

I know there's an obvious step I'm missing but I can't work out what it is?

Sussed it!!!

I think the problem was WinRAR getting in the way. When I tried to extract the file though WinRAR it wouldn't have it. I had to pull the eLearn icon out onto the desktop. Then when I right-clicked on it, suddenly there was the option to 'Mount to D Drive'.

I got mildly worried when some of the setup boxes contained Italian but went with it and hey presto, first thing you do is select Language.

Thanks again. Really, really appreciate it

Idiots guide (for the version that I got)....

1) Download it.
2) You have a zip file - open the zip file using winzip (paid) or 7-zip (free). I had an .iso file, not an .nrg. Stick the .iso or .nrg in a folder somewhere.
3) You now need to "mount" the iso - what you have is a disk image. Download daemontools-lite if your machine can't do this automatically. Install it and then open your iso or nrg. It will appear as a virtual drive.
4) You will be asked if you want to "auto run it" - say yes, and it will install e-learn. It needs to refer to the virtual CD, so leave daemontools running (it will just run).

That's it. Remember to select english as the language.

can anyone say how big the file is. I let the download go to 100MB before a cancelled it. This seem way to big for a CD so stopped it there.
