Fuel temperature sensor

Hi I have an alfa 147 jtd on a 2007 plate, failed the mot as engine management light has flagged up a fuel temperature sensor error. Does anyone know anything about this?

Independent garage that it's in cannot find one and searching the Internet and contacting dealers parts centre has not provided any more information. Nobody appears to know anything about this part. Has anyone come across this before?
The part number I was given by the local alfa parts centre was 55188058 but they can't find any stock for it and the intetent flags it up as a coolant sensor.

Any help appreciated

Garage
To my knowledge the sensor is placed on fuel filter body (bottom).
There are two part numbers depending on the fuel filter type, 46826503 and 77362337

That sensor doesn't give an error when faulty, unless it's activating and the dashboard error is actually the water-in-fuel error.

I removed that sensor entirely a few years ago after a second one broke on me... no warnings or errors on the dash.
