Thumbs Up Does Alfa 156 2.5 has a MAF issue ?

Hello Every one,

I have a question as i hear alot of roomers that the 156 v6 has a common issue of MAF failure, i need to know is this true or not , as i have an issue i just bought my car 4 months ago, and i did some mincemeat to it and the car now is aggressive and feels good but i am experienced a 4 MAF failures in 2 months , and this usually happen when i am driving a long road and happen when the MAF fails when i give it too many kickdowns in a long road .............. i dont think this is normal thing, but the MAFs i changed were used ones, but i dont think this is an issue, i am using pipercross Air filter and its new and clean, can some one advice me what to do

With genuine type filters, the MAFs will last years.
If your Pipercross filter is an oiled type it will reduce MAF life but you have either been unlucky with MAFs, heavily over-oiled the filter or been sucking up moisture/road grime if the bell-mouth is in open air at front of car.

What the manufacturers say about positioning the pick-up is only of use for tarmac track race cars on dry days.

the issue happened even with the original filter, and for the pipercross i washed it from the oil and left it to dry and used it but no luck

From a 2.5 V6?
The MAF from other engines are different

It should be the following Bosch numbers:
Sensor: F 00C 2G2 030
Complete: 0 280 217 531

There's the problem ... used MAFs ... probably been cleaned a few times (and possibly incorrectly) or simply already failing ...

Buy a NEW one ...
