Hi everyone,

I am new here so go easy!

Im currently running a 2007 1.9JTDM Lusso, with an angel tuning map and some other small supporting mods at around 215bh
I want to take my car to the next level. I have a stage One clutch and lightened flywheel.
I would like my car to be able to run day to day, and be able to smash a few laps on a track.
I have the following questions to ask:

Hybrid Turbo - What turbo does my car have? Is it a td04? Is it worth doing?
Swirl flap delete - Someone explain the benefits of this please.
Coil over vs lowered springs - Which is the best option/price?
Tyres - Road noise and feel not an issue for me. Looking for ultimate grips!
Q2 Diff - Is on the cards. Im certain this is the ultimate upgrade.
Straight pipe - How much mpg loss vs power gain/restriction on exhaust.

Any recommendations welcome!

Thanks!

Swirl flap delete is preventative, not performance. The flaps can break and be swallowed up by engine causing piston damage.

Coil overs that has height adjustability is better than lowering springs as you can micro set the precise setting YOU WANT. They are matched for damping. Lowering springs have the tendency to over power the dampers.

Q2 / Quaife is a phenomenal upgrade, a must IMHO, just expensive.

Straight pipe is over the top. Single box at the back with turbo up front is best. Even a straight perforated box at the back will work fine performance vs noise.

Autolusso makes a decent hybrid turbo that is well worth looking at.

You do not say where you are from so tires are difficult to gauge. It is a personal choice. I go for middle of the pack performance tires. Yokohama / Achilles. Others swear by conti sport / eagle F1. If you want to track time quite a bit I would recommend semi slick for track and road tires for road. It is worth it having two sets of wheels fit for purpose.

Agree with all of that.
You wouldn't just fit lowering springs- uprated dampers are also needed. Coilovers are more track day suited whereas sport springs and dampers are better for fast road (usually smoother riding).

Latest Goodyear or Michelin tyres sport tyres appear to be very good (tried on other's cars) but you will know if you give them such a hard time that track wheels and tyres are needed.

A 3.2 or Q2 rear anti roll bar or Eibach kit will help reduce understeer. An LSD is a must.

All this sounds expensive. It's not often I'm thankful for being too old for that stuff...I think:disappointed:
