This might be a stupid question, but Im assuming that the insurance cover only covers UK members? I wouldnt generally ask but i saw that you wrote that its available to all the members.

Just insured my Spider with Adrian Flux, and was delighted. Given that this is a policy with no no-claims as it is a third car for me and the missus, it was 40 cheaper than anything on the Go Compare type sites could offer, and half of the best price offered by the other insurance broker listed on this forum.

Well happy!

Been with AF a few years now. Asked to price match another quote 3 years ago which they happily did, and it had only gone up by 5 since.

This year we (i.e. the wife) had a car park scrape which resulted in a claim. I was expecting a nasty surprise at renewal time. In fact it's only gone up by 50 which I was very happy with.

Cheers Adrian Flux - you've got a happy customer for another year

MY TURN
I've just insured one of my three cars with Adrian flux solely because they came out as the cheapest on confused.com. while doing the online thing I clicked on the wrong date for the start of the policy I wanted the inception date to be the 17th Jan but clicked the lower week the 24th Jan
"MY FAULT I HOLD MY HANDS UP"
So today bearing in mind I only did the online thing Saturday night I phoned Adrian flux telling them I'd made a mistake and asking if they could bring the inception date forward a week. I was then told that they needed to ask me a few questions before the policy could be approved. After 15 minutes on the phone being grilled about a claim at my old address back in Febuary 2012 I explained that the claim was not by me so I hadn't lied on my proposal as I think she were indicating. At this point I was told to hang on while she check things out so I ask them to phone me back. some time later I get a call back saying that everything's ok and they will cover me for the price quoted but to bring the inception date forward I will incur a charge of 50.00 at this point I'm not happy as the policy hadn't even been accepted 30 minutes ago. so I tell them not to bother and I'll go elsewhere. that's fine but you will also incur a 50.00 charge for cancelation of the policy. I've already paid them so I'm in a no win situation here. At this point I let then know that I have three cars and was seriously considering moving my xr3i insurance over to them from peter james as they are quoting it a little cheaper but following the way things have gone over the last 30 minutes I wont be doing so. At this point she offers to move the inception date forward for 30.00 but me being me I refuse to budge. why should I pay them any money at all for what amounts to very little work on their behalf when this could have been done while setting up the policy that had not been done 30 minutes earlier and at the start of the call I made to change the date being told that the policy hadn't been approved yet.
Anyway the outcome is that I now have a policy with Adrian flux that starts a week after I need it to so I'm going to be without my new car for a week. with this in mine I will never use again or recommend Adrian flux to anyone.
any feedback from Adrian flux welcome.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about this.

Could I ask you to forward me your policy number please? I can then arrange for this to be investigated as soon as possible.

Kind regards
Dan.

Following dan's post I phoned flux and things are now sorted thanks. It's a pity that you have to voice your opinions / disappointment with a company on the Internet to get things sorted when they could have been sorted with a simple phone call. But at least things are now all good for me at least.

Hey! I have a couple of quick questions if that's alright.

I've just taken out a policy with you, but have something I forgot to ask the guy on the phone (to be fair he spoke at rocket speed!).

I'm on a limited mileage policy which is fine as the car is never really used in the week. What he didn't explain though, was the cost involved if I need to increase the mileage allowance (I doubt I'll need to, as I estimated 20% over my average for the last 3 years so I should be fine), but it'd be nice to know just-in-case.

Also, you want me to upload copies of the driving licenses which I understand is normal for your policies - but you ask for photo cards. 2 of the named drivers have the old style paper licenses and thus no photo cards - will this be a problem?

Although I completely forgot about the AO scheme so probably could have saved a couple of quid if I'd mentioned it! Doh! :P

Cheers!

Hi,

Could you send me your policy number please? I can then check the insurer and find out their terms on increasing the mileage. I will also be able to answer the other queries too.

Kind regards,
Dan.

Thanks - I've PM'd you.

The policy booklet and cover note seem to contradict each other. The booklet says:

"If your premium has been calculated on a limited annual mileage basis we will seek evidence at the time of a claim to prove that your estimated annual mileage has not been exceeded. If you fail to supply appropriate evidence or evidence is provided by you which shows that the estimated annual mileage has been exceeded you will be required to pay the additional amount of excess shown on the endorsement applying to your policy."

Which suggests that if you exceed the mileage limit, there will be an additional excess in the event of a claim, but no additional premium. The cover note doesn't have this additional excess though.

Whereas the cover note says:

"I understand that should I wish to exceed this stated mileage I will inform my brokers in advance of doing so and agree to pay the additional premium required."

Which reads "pay in advance".

Cheers!

GTV 3.0 V6

Just done my new cover with AF today looking forward to collecting the GTV tomorrow. Will hopefully meet some of you on some owners drives. Sure some will know the car for sure.

A little bit more that I was expecting, however overestimated likely mileage for first year of ownership. Also added my wife as a named driver. (Emergency only as more chance of resurfacing than me giving her control. )

Suppose would be cheeky trying to get the extra 20% ride/drive discount as although the car has taken part in some, this is me new to the Alfa Mafiosi!!!!

Was nice they carried introductory NCB to this as a second car so with 9yrs plus that was a bonus. ( real would be about 22 years now but traditional insurers cap you out.)

I forgot to ask if you include Breakdown cover with my policy. Is it included (as per most other insurers) or is it a separate premium?

Cheers
