Extra loading for non fault accidents

Hi

Just to generally ask.

I had noticed that my insurance renewal seemed high after declaring the 2 accidents in the last 2 years ( hit in rear whilst stationary ) both claims settled and the third party admitted liability on both claims.

I have been loaded on my policy quotes up to £500 declaring these non fault accidents.

I tested it by getting quotes with and without declaring the prangs.

Some quotes were from £150 the highest £520.00 on top of the normal policy.

Has anyone else found this practise as standard ?

Yep, bizarrely it's standard practice

hey get this, mine was no fault but wrongly recorded by old insurer 2 yrs ago.

New insurer nearly cancelled my cover took me weeks to get old insurer, RSA incidentally, to correct the mistake and prove it to the underwriters satisfaction. Hole (and i do know how i spelt this) insurance industry is a con as everybody underwrites everybody else and its pass the parcel on claims.

A named driver on my policy (my missus), was sat at a roundabout in her own car when a white van decided not to stop and went straight in to the back of her. The guy admitted liablity at the time, and the claim was settled by his insurer with minimum fuss (relatively speaking).
My insurer now considers my missus as a higher risk and has loaded the policy accordingly (albeit not a massive amount).
It is profiteering of the worst kind, and it infuriates me
