Agreed Value Insurance & Member Insurance

does anyone on here have agreed value insurance?

does anyone know how to obtain agreed value insurance, and what it costs - including the cost of it and the possible increase in premium from a market value car?

I am considering it for this year, as i have spent a hell of a lot on the maintenance side of my car, most mechanical components including engine, sele box, actuator, all brakes/suspension etc have done less than 20,000 miles, but my car will still have a market value of £not-much-these-days.

does Chris Knott provide a discount for Alfaowner.com members, or is it just for AROC members?

Hi, It was removed, though I haven't had a response to tell me why, when it was a direct answer to your specific question and NOT a shameful advertising plug.

Agreed value costs anything from FREE to £38 depending on whether you add it to a classic policy or an everyday car policy. You need 6 good quality close-up photos and preferrably an independent valuation. If you don't have a club valuation, an insurer that specialises in Alfas will be able to verify your valuation using the photos supplied.

Hope that's general enough not to have it removed this time.

nick, thanks for the reply.

what information do the photos provide you with, if someone (generally speaking) wants an agreed value?

im not sure i would be able to, as the "value" in my car is in the mechanics, and not the exterior condition.

Hi

I've got an agreed value on my car, I'm with Carole Nash and they are really helpful. There was no charge for the agreed value and I just had to send them the standard 6 pictures and fill out a form detailing the condition of the vehicle. The most relevant part to you was that there was a section on the form relating to the mechanical condition of the car and invoices can be copied and sent to them (you can send the originals but you don't get them back so not wise!).

Basically they will take in to account all of the parts replaced on the vehicle and the value of them, although they will not included labour costs. Worked perfectly for me as I do all the maintenance myself and I just keep all the invoices for the parts and it adds up to an impressive amount. It basically proves that your car is far more 'up to scratch' than a worn out car with tidy paintwork, clearly making it more valuable. I'm not sure all agreed value insurers will offer this but I havenít really looked into it - just my experience.

Cheers

Yep, copies of invoices for mechanical mods are good for us too.
