Hmmm aaarrrggghhh!!! multicar HELP!!

ok so currently insured with adrian flux for my alfa gtv v6 which was competitive with a little help from dan @ £500 for the year which is up end of june.

My wife and i are expecting a baby in a few weeks so i opted to buy a cheap 4 door for the family use. i am the only driver in the household.

anyway. just purchased a saab 9-3 for £850 and rang AF for some prices. Now i can't put the gtv on classic as i don't have a garage and my policy doesn't allow multicar, so with my NCB firmly on the alfa i was quoted a car costing £600ish full comp and £550 3FF for the saab which has just left me shocked and wondering what the hell i am going to be doing.

Any advice gratefully received.

thnx

Try tradex.. they do a enthusiasts policy that insures all the drivers and cars under one policy. I had 8 cars and 2 drivers for £834 a year but it didnt allow drive other cars though.

well thnx tradex came through with a cracking quote £750 full comp any owned cars (no limit) value max 50k protected no claims. just going to give a bell to AF.

also Chris nott my previous insurer of 3 years would even insure the gtv only as they would only do garaged even standard policy????

I will be going with them once I have big drive again. I never had a problem and added cars as I pleased. I only didnt go with them last year as I had the Type R scooby and they wanted an extra £550 for that alone.. and I only paid £320 for that FC with A plan.

For that money I had a rs2000, a 147 2.0, st24, Zetec s fiesta, series 1 cabriolet escort, 2001 wrx subaru, pajero, and a mk1golf cabby.

Thats what annoyed me that when I went up to the type R from the wrx they wanted £550 quid more.

ok so just googled fleet and tried a company called black friars group and got the same deal. any car owned max group value of £50k excess £250. full comp + protected, also 3rd party on non owned cars ..........£678.60

Rang AF and was able to drop saab quote to 430 3rd ff but alfa renewel would be same so £850. cancelling AF in the morning. bit miffed that i lose 2 months non refundable with AF though but hey !!

if i didn't have the 3.0 v6 alfa they would have dropped car groupings and would have been max £20k fleet with £10k any single car and nearer £580 for the year

thanks for the response dan but cancelled by email. did ring a few times but could only offer 2 policies and not multi but managed both cars at £820. as a solo with the alfa your price last year was amazing but this home fleet thing is spot on for now.
