which insurance do you claim on?

Scenario:

A Driver hits a parked car, does a little bit of damage to the parked car (dented wing)

So whose insurance policy does the owner of the damaged stationary car claim from? Their own? Or the Driver at fault?

I've never really understood the correct procedure. I've had a similar case where I went through my own insurance and it is still dragging on with toing and froing between insurnance companies and solicitors. I sometimes think it would have gone smoother if I'd let the party at faults insurance handle it.

Re: which insurance do you claim on?

I would assume that it s the drivers at fualt insuance, as it was their fault.
of course that is assuming that the parked car was legaly parked, and that the other driver left their details.

You contact your own insurance company who will make a claim against the other party on your behalf .

I am not saying I have the answer - but it is a complete rubbish system!
