If it is unregistered why would it have done 865 miles? Must have been on trade plates but would it have been used as a demo car? Is this normal practice?

865 miles on an unregistered car!!! Used and thrashed as a demonstrator I would think.

There are much better cars out there with fewer miles and one careful owner!

Mine was sold so I'm not trying to push that either...

Typical Mango's way over the top, that's why it is still for sale, I saw it several months ago. Also typical of Mango's for a "new" car they could have cleaned the engine bay for the photos, plenty nicer 4C LE's on autotrader for much less money.

So they devalue the car with those godawful stickers and then have the temerity to inflate the price - they're a class act.

I don't know if this is a launch edition or the difference, but thought it refreshing to see one for sale at 45k even if it has done 7000 miles http://www.glynhopkin.com/alfa-romeo...5-tbi-2dr-tct/

Has been for sale for quite some months... for the same money you could have had mine in the same colour with more options and less than half the mileage... ce la vie... now with a dealer going for £50k...

I see Mangos have dropped there's to £60k, still way over the top.

I'm very, very surprised to see so many 4C's for sale, I have an Elise now and there is almost as many 4C's for sale as Elise's, I think the negative press reaction probably has a lot to do with that.

The numbers for sale seem to have been steadily creeping up. The prices are all over the place imho which might be off putting to those waivering about buying one. Perhaps it hasn't grabbed the attention of the non Alfa enthusiasts enough to make it a sales success. It would be a pity if this is the case as I think it was a brave decision of Alfa to build it.

I see a 4c launch edition for sale on AT for under £40k it's only got 5.5k on the clock, why haven't these been the success that Alfa were expecting?
Prices are all over the place and they don't seem to be selling, disappointing as I really thought that the 4c could be a great ambassador for the brand.

Is that the one at Veloces? They are not exactly known for cut price Alfas! They are usually at the top end of the market when it comes to pricing. Hard to know what conclusions to draw from this one.

How many 4Cs are there in this country?
There are over 50 on Autotrader.

Not sure but there are about half that number on pistonheads. Market has often undervalued specilist italian cars in the past. The SZ and Ghibli Cup could have been had for about 15 -17K not that long ago and now they are 35 -45K. They were definitely limited production models though. The 4C is more plentiful and might not fare as well residual wise but I suppose only time will tell.
To succeed they will have to appeal to and retain customers beyond traditional Alfa fans and that migt be a problem and is likely to show up in second hand values over time. Hope this isn't the case though.

Without wishing to be rude, what we're you expecting? This is not an 8c. 300 have been sold so far, the new cars have a few revisions on the launch version. For the first cars to have dropped 20% in value is hardly a shock is it?

The product manager said about 300. It's a high proportion on sale. Most on sale though will be cars that were bought without ever being test driven and some that were possibly bought in the hope of being an investment

Oops saw the count answered on a previous post.
I can't imagine that were going to see a sub 20k one for a long long time.

If the carbon tub is a service item ,as it is on a Mcclaren F1, then it'll reach £20k when that change is due.

Not really surprising, it's like no other car (there are very few exceptions) - they all go down in price quite rapidly over first 3 years or so.

I've said on a number of occaisions on here and the 4C forum, Alfa just don't seem to 'get it' - the car needs its steering sorting (and race exhaust) for it to appeal. Look at the latest Auto Express review of the spider, it's spot on. The annoying thing is that there is a solution and it's a relatively simple fix.

My guess is there are so many (as a proportion of cars registered) on the market probably because they were bought on promises and looks without a test drive. Now they can be driven it highlights what a handful they can be! Come on Alfa, sort it out and do yourselves a favour and the rest of us that own them.
