4c delivery slipping

Hi all,

Wondering what the extent of the delay problem.
I am assuming that the issue is misjudged USA demand and effectively the UK (possible rest of the world) has been dropped to try and meet the USA requirements.

I ordered last June and was told Feb 2015 for delivery (possibly optimistic but that's what I was told)
Shortly after that the dealer told be it would be brought forward to December 2014
Just been told that the car will now not be built until December this year, so delivery will be in 2016. Alfa even said I could get a spider faster!

What are others being promised and what delays are you suffering?

You might get a better idea on the 4C forums. As you say, their 'sales push' seems to be in the satisfying of US demand rather than the rest of the world.

There are a few UK owners with SE's on there so might give some indication as to speed of delivery.

Even16 months seems optimistic.
My forecast sits at 18 months and is still a year away
I even get the feeling they would be happy for me to cancel (which I am not)!
Anyone taken delivery in the last 2 months? At 200 a year there should be nearly 4 a week getting delivered.

Why wait? A great choice on Autotrader! I'm sure you'd get one at list or less, as most have been kicking around for months.

Hi, the problem is that the software which manages the factory orders failed. (You didn't hear that from me.)

If you kick up a real stink, like I did, you might get pushed ahead in the queue.

Ordered a 4C last Friday. Delivery possibly up to July 2016. I can't wait, how can I put up with waiting that long?

There is fairly detailed information on 4C sales in the US on the Alfa Romeo 4C Forums site under the 4C Owners List thread. The number of cars for sale has grown substantially in the last month, and they are beginning to move off the sales lots more quickly now, but prices are falling to MSRP without a premium in most cases.

Order being swapped over to a spider .... Which I "should" get about 6 months before the original order!
I think this might rumble on for some time ...

Ah, could have given you a contact for Western but don't know anyone at Mackenzies, if you want a closer look I might bring mine up for its service when (and if) the weather gets warmer, a much nicer run thorough the country your way than dual carriage way to Edinburgh

I'm sure it will be glorious come the spring nigethecat
DMM have been working the issue pretty hard for me
I'm actually in Balmedie so possibly close to you
I ended up in Inverness because they actually keep a customers car for him and he was kind enough to let me have a shot!
Difficult to believe the spider in June line given I can't even spec one up yet

Update from my dealer car is due for delivery week 52 2015 so if things don't slip from here on I guess I'm looking at mid January 2016. That will mean roughly 2 year wait since order, if they start delivering UK Spiders before then as mentioned in another post I'll be kicking up a proper stink.

There are unsold LE cars in the good ole US of A whilst muppets like us have put deposits down and are waiting, whilst there aren't enough sceptics that want to buy the car, if Alfa haven't built enough cars this calendar year to satisfy the 1000 EU limited type approval regulations I will be sorely miffed.

Wow ... and to think I complained about a 7 month wait!
