With all that R&D and yet so few units coming off the production line, it makes you wonder how (if?) Alfa turn a profit on this model.

Cool vid! I like watching stuff like that. Doesn't help the 18 month wait anymore though!

Alfa Romeo 4C - full technical details

apparently it takes 90 manhours for the carbon fibre tub, and about 25 hours (don't know about man hours) over 3 weeks for the build....

Shame they don't know how to spell '*****' !? correctly on the information panel on Sky.
Looking forward to the programme though.

(Response to edited word above).
The auto edited bit above only spelt A L P H A, not sure why it got censored.

Discovery Channel programme.

That was pretty impressive. Robots were doing the jobs, such as inserting the pistons, which on other "How it's made" such as Ferrari and Audi are done by a woman with a big rubber hammer.

The construction of body work seemed pretty complex and labour intensive.

Reminded me of a programme I saw many years ago following the construction of a TVR

When finished the 4c looked absolutely fantastic

That's an amazing film. I had no idea of the manufacturing technique of the body.

Frankly, this should be a 90k car!

The fact it is about half this price puts it in reach. But I do wonder about the insurance issues and if the car is repairable, at a reasonable cost, even after minor bump.

I know we don't like to think about these things but we live in a world of crowded roads.
