Ordered a 4C today! :-)

Hi Guys,

New member and first time poster.. I test drove and ordered a 4C SE today.

Wanted a raw new weekend toy and it certainly delivers in its rawness from what I could tell today after a test drive!

I'm not in any great hurry to take delivery and thank goodness that's the case since I have been quoted 18 months lead time!

Anyway I look forward to participating in and reading this forum.

All the best for 2015.

Good for you! Well worth the wait.

What options have you chosen for it?

I kept things simple for the spec to keep the cost down and went with the following;

Alfa Rosso red
Black cloth seats
Std alloys with matt black finish
Cruise control
Cup holder
4C carpet mats
Racing sports exhaust

Now the long wait begins...

Not tempted by a speculators car?
Good to hear there's still a waiting list for real buyers , if you know what I mean?

Good options choice. Do bear in mind that anything you put in the cup holder will disappear behind the footrest in the passenger foot well as soon as you so much as breathe on the brake pedal !!!

Same as what I ordered except, I didn't take the exhaust or cruise went for yellow callipers and parking sensors, 360 for about half a litre of yellow paint is excessive though, and do they charge for red Brembo callipers on a Giulietta? er no. My car is at status 10 bottom of the list of 5 my dealer had allocated. Enjoy the wait.

Parking sensors 100% vital, reversing is just guess work otherwise.

I have to echo this, without them it is complete and utter guesswork. I suspect that it could be a differentiator for resell. (Sorry for thinking so conservatively!)

I am an enthusiast that's happy to wait for the car I want.

It's a long time to wait and a lot can happen in 18 months but I intend to follow through with my order and take delivery of my car for my own future enjoyment.

You might be right with the parking sensors.. I thought they're a little steep at 420?!

That equates to about 8.00 a week for knowing you can reverse with reasonable confidence, go for it.

Some or all of the cost may be retained at resale ,thus making it a savings scheme?

Maybe swap with the cruise control option? I doubt you would use it too much. And, given how the turbo seems to be linked to the drive-by-wire, I question how smoothly it will work.

Great choice, I like your attitude. I agree with what others have said, can't really see the point of cruise control on a car like this, I would swap that for the parking sensors.

I just watched the Top Gear DVD in which Clarkson declares his undying love for the 4C and have to agree with his thoughts, it's a fantastic car and real Alfa.

Didn't get parking sensors with mine but not been a problem so far, just wait until I bump into one of the crowd standing behind taking pictures and then stop

A very kind offer to the OP, perhaps antell will let him reverse it so as to form his own opinion
