So apparently if this is true, there will be an even hotter version of the 4C

Wheels look new . Vent is already on US cars.
Well done Auto Express for spotting the visibly increased power output too!

this article seems to be 6 weeks old. Recently we all saw pictures of a red and yellow Spider in Spain, with the extra vent. In my opinion the camouflaged car is just the testing of a Spider and has nothing to do with a QV.

I would tend to agree.

"We suspect Alfa Romeo may be addressing some media criticism that the 4C could perform better on a track with the QV."

Not sure where they got that comment from. The reviews I have seen show the 4C to be a more than competent track performer. And 8.04 around the 'ring is hardly shabby for a 1.75 four pot.

I still believe one day there will be a 4C QV, but in my opinion these pictures just belong to a standard Spider.

there is a picture on Autoedizione of a 4C with the extra vent.
So I was wrong.

Anyone knows what this extra vent means ? Just for the American version or is it a QV ?

The standard American 4C doesn't have the extra rear vent, so I'm guessing it is either new styling for 2015 or is indeed particular to the QV.

My guess is that it has been added to improve rear downforce. I suppose it could be used to cool the rear brakes also, but I'm not sure that is a massive problem for your average driver?

The vent is only on the left side, so definately not for cooling the brakes..

Interesting.

I can't imagine the final version having a vent on one side but not the other, purely for aesthetic reasons. But, hey, Alfa have shot themselves in the foot before!

Both spider and coupe versions in the us now has this intake, only on the left side it seems. May it be extra cooling for the engine? Cant see this having anything to do with downforce or similar. And it looks better without

Yeah, unlikely to be downforce if it's just on the one side. Maybe it is just for additional cooling.

I believe it is to cool the gearbox-probably unnecessary in most conditions and looks awful
