Been on track in the 4C.

So I went out on track in a 4C at the weekend for a couple of fast laps.

Really is a brilliant car. The way it changes direction is incredible.

The brakes are great, it's so flat in the corners and the grip is very impressive.

Love it.

I also had 10 laps in one mid september. Incredibly Fast and grippy, and heavy for the arms Took it easy, so was never really on the limit, but looking forward to the next time i can try it out. But that won't be unti next summer, as it is now tucked away for the winter months. Easily the fastest car i've ever tried on the track.

Alfa UK car, was at Millbrook test track at the weekend. Using one of the smaller handling circuits.. Unfortunately I wasn't driving it!

Hi, how are you getting on with the race exhaust (assuming you have one)? Personally I'm struggling to live with it. There is terrible boom between 73mph and 85mph when cruising. It's fine if you are at 90mph, but I don't do that on open roads these days! I've bought some moter bikers ear plugs that help a lot, but not at the dreaded 73 to 85. 1400 to revert to standard exhaust and not sure if that's appreciably quieter, so bit of a risk unless anyone has one out there who can advise.

PS I also had the awesome hot lap experience at Millbrook on Sunday, no exhaust issues there as flat out and crash helmet on!

If you are happy to let use your car to build an exhaust on we'll see if we can tune out that resonance - we're busy uptil early Spring next year so you have some time to think about it

Have a look here for more information and videos of exhausts we've made for other Alfa models:

Not noticed any problem with the exhaust note at any speed. It's an LE so it does have the race exhaust. The noise it makes is fantastic and a definite 'plus point' of ownership. Sure it's noisy but not in a way that makes it uncomfortable for me to drive.

I had a couple of laps of Thruxton as part of the Alfa UK promo event. 136 mph by the end of the straight, words fail me I just wasn't prepared for the initial burst of acceleration. Deeply impressive, as was the GQV that I drove immediately afterwards.

Those of us lucky enough to attend the Alfa Proving Ground session at Thruxton yesterday got a hot lap as a passenger in a 4C driven by a top-notch racing driver. Very impressive.
We should get the recordings taken on an in-car camera sent to us on a memory stick soon.

I'm very tempted by the Spider version, but there's little info about. Does anyone know if the removable 'Targa' panels will be stowable inside the car?
My belief is that the production version will be revealed at the Geneva show in March. That shown in Paris this month, looked the same one as the prototype at Geneva this year.

Maybe I'm getting old or I've got a dodgy exhaust! It's definitely an uncomfortable boom to me.

I don't think it's just you, I have to agree it gets tiresome at motorway cruising speed in 6th, but it sounds so fantastic everywhere else I think I can live with it!

It is extremely boomy between 125kmh and 145kmh in 6th gear..

In 5th gear at the same speed its perfect. Just drive it in 5th at that speed.
