Collection?

When I bought my Merc, Mercedes flew me n the missus business class to Sindlefinden, the car appeared in a cloud of dry ice and we drove it home. Fabulous!
My UK AR dealer says AR do not offer this sort of fun.
Shame on them.
Anyone got any suggestions how to persuade them to let me collect it.
The Genoa tunnels would be awesome on the way home!

As Alfa only have two models in their showroom and are always hit with years of delay and flip flop, most owners are happy just to have it.

Alfa have used the idea recently though, when my dreams of a new spider went up in a cloud of smoke

I would try to contact AR UK directly and NOT your dealer. You can also contact Alfa in Italy directly and try....

I doubt they will say yes but nothing wrong with trying.

They could even make money out of it as some brands charge upwards of 2,000 to arrange factory collection ;-)

I imagine you are talking to me? Am I hiding?

I have no problem accepting something that I have offered and as soon as he sends me details of the charity I will pay.

Are you his accountant?

All you have done in the past year on this forum is complain about everyone, Alfa, the service you got or didn't get..... Because you spent 50k on Alfa in 3 years you believe that you are supposed to be treated in a special manner? HAHA you are delusional!
Get a life of your own and take care of your things.

People like you are the reason for these forums to get boring and ridiculous. I left here a few months ago because I was bored of these constants arguments.

Thanks for making it clear again for me that this is not a place where I enjoy sharing thoughts.
Have a good and happy life with any car you like to talk about.

4C LE 299

My dealer also asked, as they are a Alfa/Maseerati dealership and Maser offers factory collection. The answer they got was a rather short "Factory delivery is not an Alfa Romeo option".

A personal thought is that it might also have to do with the limited series approval of the 4C. It might be more cumbersome with the registration, also making it harder to arrange the paperwork.

It isn't as easy as it sounds to have someone collect the car at the factory. I guess they are not ready in terms of doing all the paperwork, registration, etc at Alfa as they didn't expect people to want to collect from the factory.
I imagine they didn't offer this option also for the 8C right?

Perhaps you would like to explain to me which part of your personal attack was anything to do with cars?
It surprises me not that the comments of Paddy and Max failed to annoy you in anyway at all.

Back on topic....the 8c was available to collect from Modena as a no cost option as I took advantage when collecting mine, an awesome drive home via stelvio

Thanks bretty. That's very interesting....and I guess it means they have the capabilities to arrange it.
Let's see if we can push Alfa in Italy directly to offer this

I was told that mine, like all UK 4Cs, is being shipped individually on a low loader. Seems and expensive way of doing it, especially as they are being produced in batches for each market.

That's a serious waste of money if true....

If I remember right there are 60 LE coming to the UK. That's a lot of trucks on the road

By the way did any of you bought it from the main Marylebone Alfa/Fiat Showroom? PM if you want to meet up when they deliver our cars

I had a helpful reply from Mr Fiat with a promise to look into it. I will let you know how I get on. Merc have it all very well organised (as you would expect!) and even included the insurance for anyone to drive for the first five days. My 17 year old was a lucky lad that year.

When I picked my CLK up from Bremen, cant remember it being a business class flight, well worth t though as you pay the delivery charge anyway, still got the transit plates HB 196 on the garage wall. A UK trip back via Stelvio or even going home via the border at Como for a quick peak at the wilderness that was Arese would be well worth it.

I've seen that signpost for Arese off the Autostrade a few times but felt it would be a depressing detour . Modena however I'd got to if there was a 4C waiting !

Seriously, in the grand scheme of things, is it really that important to collect one of the most anticipated, limited-prouduction cars from Alfa in a very long time from the factory?

Here in Oz, we're just eternally grateful if we can get one delivered to our shores.
