Hey Perreby,

Would love to, but I haven't put my hands on it yet.

The story is : the car has arrived at the dealership, he sent me the pics.

But the dealership is like 800 km from where I live.... yeah, don't ask....personnal reasons and he was the one who could get me the car fast

So they need time to get it registered (today or monday), then I get thre registration number, I need to get it insured and order a proprer licence plate for the front.

That means, if it all goes smooth, I should be flying there friday or saturday and enjoying a nice (and long) drive back next weekend....

So don't expect anything from me before next week, Stef should be able to tell us more.

Hey guys,

Got it !!!!

Drove back from the south of France with it, now she already totals 995 km

Here is how she looked like it the garage, the sales guy was sad to see me go as he probably won't have one in the showroom before a long time ...

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5386-big.jpg

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5389-big.jpg

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5390-big.jpg

Drove it mostly on highways, mostly wet, so I stuck with neutral and dynamic mode.

The cars is just amazing, really a small race car. don't expect too much comfort.

She is loud, bearable but loud (have to put radio almost to max to hear it.

6th gear is too much of an overdrive at 3000 rpm it gives you a deep and not very nice sound, better stay in 5th at 4000rpm

As you can see I decided to go for no plate in front, actually I could not make up my mind so I did not do anything

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5392-big.jpg

Drove 800 km without being stopped though

Drinvin conditions were not soo good (see pic :

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5397-big.jpg

But really she went through it without any problem.

Unassisted steering is no problem, it is direct and straightforward.

And I love the view in the mirrors

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5402-big.jpg

The car is now safely home, washed and waiting for my front plate decision

Hoops almoste forgot...

Got arrested the next day

http://staticclub.caradisiac.com/pri...g_5407-big.jpg

They were ok, just told me to get it fixed asap, pfou.....

Not very good in All Weather mode (you could count to ten between shift )

OK for everyday use in Neutral...

Fast enough for me in dynamic.... not tried race mode yet...

But the more noticeable thing about the modes is the accelerator response, which is a bit too slow in neutral and gets adequate in Dynamic

First (spotted) LE in Belgium (Bruges by the looks of it) has a front plate that is a version of the "regular" plate that has been shrunk in proportion to fit exactly to the "vertical" bit of the front bumper as a sticker - which is exactly what I was planning

Perhaps good to know :

So, drivability wise, as a driving machine, was it worth the wait??

Hi Screensmoke

First of all, congrats and thanks.

Second : I hope you don't mind me asking, but would like to find out something :
on the Dutch forum, people are getting their pants in a twist a bit over these pictures :
Alfa 4C Jungkeit - a set on Flickr
since they show some paint spray in the engine bay and some supposedly not perfect fitment gaps.

Is this something you see also? Personally I would not really care. I work on cars as a hobby and have seen much worse (on new cars that were more expensive). But I am a bit curious

Hi Coniglio

To be perfectly honest, I would say there are traces of imprefections.

But for me it is understandable because, it is, after-all, a man-made car, not machine produced.

So sometimes humans err.

I have not checked the paint inside my engine bay, but I would understand they do not paint it (might save 1-2 kg .

But to give you an example I found a small pieces of masking tape inside the passenger door hinge

So yes, if you want to nitpick, you can.

People would say for that amount of money, it should be perfect...

I would slightly disagree; yes for that money for a mass produce car (A4, X6) I would expect perfection.

But for a handbuilt, limited volume car like the 4C, I understand that the money rather goes is the conception and the technology of the car rather than in the thickness of the pain

Totally agree smoke. Compared to other carbon tub cars this is a steal. Also I hear the first McLaren 12C's actually had leaking doors...so Alfa still seems to have some buffer zone

Probably wouldn't say they are unfounded. But I am biased I already own an unassisted Ferrari. So I am used to it. And the steering 4C is better

If you are used to the perfect steering from 458 and other supercars, yes the 4C will definelty be a change. It moves a bit and requires attention from the driver. not the kind of car you drive with 2 fingers on the wheel

I owned an Audi S3 till recently and the vagueness of the steering wheel was the only let down tbh and been looking for something with a feel for the rd so no complains here

Thanks for the feedback and congratulations. Hope you enjoy it and Safe driving

At least its a small plate..

And the cops wont harass you anymore.

I will go plateless on my car until the authorities in South Africa make a real issue about it then I will find a solution
