This doesn't bide well for non LE cars. If my maths are right, a delay of 4 months (assuming this was one of the last 500 LE's to be built) means Alfa is building about 1500 4C's a year! Time for a Alfa to make definitive statement on what is actually going on at the Maserati factory.

Thanks for the letter, Totaly agree with Ullers 3500 4c per year is just a mkt communication plan or just to do a little buzz but in reality, this car Will be a very small production
Ferrari has sold 5200 cars in the first three quaters , just have a look of the ferrari plant in Maranello and just compare to the only single Line for the 4c in Maserati
It is just impossible

All countries will get letters stating the same.. UK has already started delivering letters. And Sinda most if not all 4C LE contracts made provisions of 120 working days (if not more). Contracts and content of the delay letters are country dependent tho. But they will all basically say the same thing.

Hold on tight there are delays. More info on delivery dates etc to follow at later stage.

That's just firkkin great!! I'm actually getting tired of this wait. No news since I put a deposit in feb. According to a local website here in Aus. 4c should be released in March 14 but I'm not sure about that. Emailed my dealer, he tells me no news at all about pricing or delivery dates. Might go and get myself a Clio III while I wait. All I want to know is the LE price locally. If over 100k then il go get my deposit back and have fun in something at third of the price.

All I can tell you is AR Australia will be told the LE price by AR HQ in Italy. This will not happen until 2014 as AR HQ set the exchange rate for a long period of time, and as the AUD is volatile at the moment they will likely leave it as long as they can.

So in the interim, relax, calculate the interest the dealer is making on your deposit (I have) and wait until 2014 to hear anything.

All models are delayed. Both LHD and RHD. The RHD is no worse affected than LHD.

Only issue is the RHD's will be starting production a little later as the biggest chunk of cars are LHD's. So they are started first. Compounding the time till RHD's are built thus it will feel like it is delayed more than the LHD cars.

Yes, and its got nothing to do with the carbon tub either.

Something far more innocent but it did delay the initial building plans setting off the round of delays we have right now since they cant play "catch up" as they can only produce a couple of cars a day. So any delay in the start time will unfortunately hurt the delivery dates.

From what I gather the whole process was delayed by around 1 month. So cars will be at least 1 month late (further issues will of course delay this even further).

Apparently the initial delays had to do with the aircon unit (and the gas used). Heard this from more than one person. But that just sounds like such a silly thing that delays a car like this by so long...

Not surprised if it's a Nissan Pulsar!

Do what I just did and get an Abarth Esseesse to bide the time. The most fun you'll have on suburban roads.

Used to own a Clio RS 172 PH2 and that was a hoot. A Clio III RS should be low to mid 20s for a good one

I am surprised no one here thinks Alfa is pretty incompetent and hit themselves in the foot in this so called global re-launch of the brand.

Not remotely surprised by the delay. This is a small niche car, that will not reinvent Alfa. That will be the shared platform Chryslers (and maybe the mazda)

Rather a delayed car than a car that is not finished when I get it.

Don't understand the comment about gas and the HVAC unit, the types of refrigerant that can be used worldwide have been set by law for some years now.
