Power Figures with Racing Exhaust

As most of you know, when changing/upgrading your exhaust to a Sport Exhaust you will always get an increase in HP. It is inevitable. More free flowing less back pressure etc....

In all of Alfa's printed performance figures, not once have they indicated that the car performs better with/without the sports exhaust system. Surely the LE, which comes standard with such exhaust, is pushing out more HP???

In a turbo engine, especially one with advanced scavenging and high turbo pressure like the 1750, the rules aren't quite so simple, but there's some truth in what you say if it's done right. Many do-it-yourselfers fail miserably, but it sounds cool

That being said, the optional sports exhaust could easily just have louder sound without changing anything else. Alfa would in any case be smart to not publish any official increase in hp with the sports exhaust, since in many markets the extra hp means higher taxes.
