4C with racing exhaust is LOUD!

I read a review in which they stated they measured the 4C's noise level and it hit 97Dba

Be prepared to have a few peeved off neighbours...

From Google: 100 db is equivilent to the sound level in clubs, or at construction sites when they use a jackhammer. It can harm your ear if your exposed to the sound for a longer period of time permanantly. However when exposed for a short time (a few hours) it might cause a temporary ear buzzing. People can sceam up to 110 or even 120 db.

Is the 97dBA measured in the cabin? On the road? At what distance? Is this a drive-by test?

Sound (noise) drops off rapidly with distance so you need to know where and how this 97 dBA was measured

The official method on the race tracks around these parts, is to measure it at an angle about a meter behind the exhaust tip, at 4000 rpm while the car is stationary. There are probably many other official ways to measure noise levels elsewhere, so don't quote me on that.

100db is twice as loud as 97db.

Yep, every increase of 3db is a doubling of the noise

I have driven a Ferrari 360 Convertible and I would assume the noise is at the same level ?

But the noise WAS LOUD with the engine right behind you in an open car and theres no point listening to the radio that they supplied its useless !!

You definitely don't notice the sound as bad -Its All Good
