Video of 4C's Lap around the Ring coming soon

Keep an eye out guys.

We will get a video of the 4C's 8min 4s lap around the Ring soon.

Posted the same time as a Cayman S (which in this case had ceramic brakes fitted to improve braking and therefore its time).

My local dealership said they're sold out for 2 years and won't have a demo in the dealership.

As someone moving into a grad role hopefully, looking for a car in 18 months, this is a big stumbling block for me.

In SA we have a waiting list of around 150 people (and we will only get around 25 cars a year). So basically impossible to get your hands on one in our country.

Posted the same time as a Cayman S. Therein lies the problem with the 4c.

The Cayman S is a proper multi skilled piece of kit. Luxury interior, decent stowage for touring, fast, great handling, great engine. It pretty much does it all, from daily driver to effective track beast.

The 4c, whilst hi-tech, is a bit of a one trick pony, don't you think?

Take the ceramic brakes away and it loses a few vital seconds there (it apparently had semi's on too) while the 4C was standard when clocking its time and add the additional cost of the Porsche PDK and the 4C looks like a bargain.

Another drawback around The Ring is the long straights where the Posche has the higher top end speed so on shorter more twisty tracks the 4C will beat it I little easier.

Sound of the 4C riding shotgun.. Sounds pretty good...

Have to be honest, I agree.

I know it has a beautiful and extremely expensive construction but surely the whole point of the 4C's construction is that it can be lighter and faster than rivals? It is probably not going to be more fun than the Cayman S, so even if it is more economical, it doesn't have the same interior or general liveability.

But with some options on it, the Cayman S will cost £55k +. Any they're options you would want, too.

2 seconds quicker than the cayman, bit slower than 911 GT3. Easily the fastest Alfa timed there, the nearest after that is the GQV.

Just sit in the 4c and you can feel a race atmosphere, no comparison possible with others models , people want absolutly compare it but it is a unique car with its philosophy, That´s all .

If you compare this car to a Cayman then you will not buy this car....lots of people say the same thing about the 911 compared to lots of others. This is / should be IMO a second or third car. As a third car I want a car to have fun with and feels special; the cayman is an amazing car that I almost bought but doesn't feel not even close to being as special as the 4C.

Anyway they don't need to sell many so I don't see any issue at all as long as it drives very well and doesn't break down a lot ;-)
