First road test of the 4C - When?

Does anyone have any inside information on who(and when) a magazine is getting their hands on a road ready 4C for review purposes?

"What Car?" are first. Apparently the boot sill is too high, and the boot itself seems to be full of engine, leaving very little room for shopping. The glovebox isn't chilled, and the towing weight is disappointing: overall, not as good as a VW Golf 1.3 diesel.

Seriously, I reckon late summer, when production starts.

Any reviewer from Autocar, What Car?, or Which? would break their hip getting in and then have a heart attack on starting a 4C, so there will never be a review from any of them.

Also, Alfa would be insane to grant them any preview rights, as they will trash it, as above. No where for the Zimmer Frame, and it is too hard to clean baby puke out of carbon fibre

VW is calling the shots now. Why use force when it can be done with economics.

VW needs Skoda more than they need VW - the production engineering at Skoda is the best in the entire group; something that shows when you compare Skoda's reliability rankings with the other three brands. It's not risk aversion that sent every major platform through Mlada Boleslav before being used by VW or Audi; I was told that the Czechs would iron out the problems and make it cheaper and easier to manufacture, before handing the revised designs to the less flexible German facilities.

There was some serious lobbying to invest in Skoda when the Iron Curtain fell. Renault and Ford were very interested, but in the end it was VW who got the deal, mainly because unlike the other suitors, VW promised to maintain Skoda as a separate brand, rather than just take over the facilities

No it isn't, first customer deliveries will take place in fall 2013..........

or to put it differently, from an Alfa perspective, after Geneva the launch editions will sell anyway (the early adopters): so why not grab some extra attention/publicity when the normal editions are going on sale in fall 2013.......
