Does anyone like the headlights?

I keep looking at the headlights and they look so ugly to me. Does anyone here actually like them? Also, has anyone heard anything official from Alfa regarding their logic behind the headlight design? There must be some benefit but I can't figure out what it could possibly be.

I do. They look like multi-faceted insect eyes which fits for a small, light, nimble, buzzy sports car.

Me too. The cowboy video (youtube) sold them to me, they look great lit and on the road. Still prefer the concepts originals but I'm sure somebody will re make them.

Well i think the concept lights look a lot better. The production plastic ones look OK on the red car - the same finish as the window frame ( A-pillar), witch makes it work overall. If i would buy one (witch i wont for the moment) i would opt for the red 4C with the darker rims and plastic light covers

This is an idiotic thing to say. Why would you even say it?

Plus, many people who don't like those headlights will be in the market for one. Take that elsewhere, please.

So far, I have only seen photos and artist impressions of them. These are all 2D representations of a 3D object.
I have not seen them in the flesh.
I have not looked at them from every angle.

I'll reserve judgement until I actually see them, because I'm not that shallow, sorry.

I think it's hilarious how so many put so much faith in Alfa to get this right, I'd never put money down on a car I'd not driven, never mind only seen pictures of.

More money than sense.

By all accounts, the 8C isn't a great car to drive. I'd still have one in a heartbeat.

If you had the money, I think it would be hard to go wrong buying a 4C, especially now. You could get the car, hate it, and chances are you would still be able to recoup your money if not make a hefty profit.

Carrello covers

I think there will be different covers for the headlamps, perhaps even Carello Perspex cowls like the Duetto or TZ.

In this photo you can see the Carrara white launch version in Geneva, still camouflaged for delivery (my assumption, might not be the display car as you can see the frame structure behind the grill). The headlamps are partially visible and body colour white. I've also seen a US pic on the interwebs where this is clearer (below)

It isn't too much of a stretch of the imagination to see the shape of the original concepts perspex covers fitted over these headlamps. Maybe the same US law that prevented the Duetto from getting Carello cowls still exists ?

they look truly terrible to me - why put aggressive technological abstract lights on a fluid pretty classical shape. Makes no design sense, like mixing metaphors...

Maybe the orignal ones too pricey to manufacture. Maybe they weren't ready in time? Maybe these are just for this the "launch edition"?

Perhaps as they plan to drip feed other editions the ligths will change to maintain market interest?

Bad decision for launch though. Car looks spoiled, very nearly ruined.

I hope to GOD they are not a new design theme, to be rolled out to new models and facelifts....

Those lights are going to be a nightmare to clean. Imagine the bugs/insects that will get scooped into those open cones.
I thought the Brera/159 was difficult enough.!!!!!

i bet the carbon ones will be/end up on the options list if they care about the alfisti.

if not, i would buy them as spare parts and change the stock ones

Assume also electrical connections will be well waterproofed.

The lights certainly would not put me off buying one - were I in a position to do so. Still got various parts of it on my Mito - rear lights, wiper & light stalks, window & mirror switch panel, just need the rest.

I have to say, at first look I'm dissapointed with the headlight clusters. Much prefered the concept ones. Not into the insectoid eye look Will try to find more images on line, I've only seen a small embedded video.

Also, at 50K, it'll be "a while" before I can afford one.

*Edit* seen a few more pics, agree that the plastic ones are terrible but the carbon look quite good from straight on. Not sure about the front quarter views yet and don't think the white paint helps. May look kick-ass on a different colour body, thinking liquid silver...
