4C launch Edition

1100 05/03/2013

Official details released this morning

Alfa Romeo 4C official launch car details have now been released! The first run of 500 cars will be available in either Rosso Alfa or Carrara White Tricoat which is a matt paint finish.
Boasting a dry weight of just 895kg and 240bhp, the 4C has a similar power to weight ratio as the Audi R8 V10, Porsche 911 Turbo and BMW M6.
The chassis of the 4C alone will weigh just 52kg!
4C will deal with 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and go on to reach 158mph using 350nm of torque to get there which is incredibly impressive as CO2 emissions are kept as low as the VW Beetle and Mercedes-Benz C350 CDi. In the cabin you will be met with a TFT screen displaying all the information you need as well as the Alfa Romeo DNA system the new "Race" mode incorporating launch control!
All of this for just £52,000 seems like incredibly good value for money. :-)

Features:
Carbon Headlight Surrounds,
carbon Rear Spoiler & Diffuser,
LED Headlights,
vents in front wings,
Black Leather with red or white stitching.
18" Front 19" Rear 5 hole dark alloys with P zero tyres

available to order today

The implemented state-of-the-art technical and technological solutions drive the Alfa Romeo 4C to reach real supercar performance with a unique driving feel. This is demonstrated by a top speed in excess of 250 km/h, only 4.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h, 1.1 of side acceleration on corners and 1.25 g of maximum braking deceleration.
That is ~head bangs on side windows~ lateral acceleration

Well, my dealer is sending the paperwork off to Alfa. UK£16k deposit directly to Alfa for launch edition, basically cutting the dealers out of the loop.

Wondering if factory collection will be an option?

Great going My dealer (in Turkey) told me that prices will be clearer next week so my pre-order process is stale at the moment. Then again the only launch edition in my country is probably going to be the one I ordered, as he said that there weren't any plans to take a piece from the 400 batch in the first place.

yellow bremos look nice on grey
front vents are rather tasty - notice they are not on the Geneva grey car
all others seem to have red brembos

composite bodywork means expensive insurance and crash repairs - so don't prang them (this may also mean a deal of care when reversing as there was no sign of reversing sensors)

quite a few of these are going to be specced with the additional "track pack" of wheels, brakes and struts, at a guess. It will be a track day star in road trim, let alone in track fettle.

£16k deposit will mean hitting the savings rather hard - still, pretty clear that that will come back in the residual - and the lack of any news as to lease options probably means it is 'cash on the barrel head'. That is going to hold down adoption for a while.

Apparently reversing sensors are one of about 6 options that can be specced, guessing the rear view will be awful so perhaps an essential choice.

I love it in red or white or silver BUT it must have those carbon fibre headlight surrounds. The standard ones are hidious. The standard edition is missing the front intakes - Would want those too!

It looks a lot better in real pics. The ones released a few weeks ago, don't do it justice.
