Why no face lift?

With the coupe getting on for 5 years old I am wondering why we haven't at least seen a slight refresh of the model? The interior could benefit from a new go over, especially the steering wheel and infotainment. Slap a Giulia wheel in there and a TFT radio from the fiat500 etc and it would be markedly more pleasant.

Agree about the wheel, radio isnít really worth it full stop. I was told production has stopped, not sure how true that is? Is a refresh on the way? Donít know that either. A full Carbon version with 400 bhp and no creature comforts would be good.

Misano blue car has just been unveiled at the Dubai motor show.

The interior was available with a leather dash and carbon pods for the vents. Does make a nice difference. The dash alone makes a big difference to the feel of the interior.

The leather wrapped dash is already an option, isnít it ? Put it on a diet and give it more power, say 320 bhp minimum.

It doesn’t need an update. As for infotainment, I took mine on a 130km drive today (Pitt Town Road, Sackville Ferry Road, Bull Ridge Road, Putty Road to Colo Heights and back) and had the radio on for zero minutes. The sound of engine/ exhaust, the instant acceleration that’s a available and the feel of the steering as you rip through a set of curves is all the entertainment a driver could want. On the other hand, if your car is crap, maybe a good infotainment system is a worthwhile distraction from that fact. This is a car that requires absolutely 100% attention while driving. Fiddling with an infotainment system while driving could very well be fatal. It’s probably why lanedeparture warning systems and autonomous braking are currently all the rage in tin boxes. Drivers stuffing around with technology in their cars being distracted from the paying proper attention to the road. The 4C is it’s own entertainment/infotainment system.
Looking forward to seeing it in Misano Blue though.

Having said all that, Iíve given my 4C a bit more mid-range grunt with an Alfaworks ECU and a more polished exhaust note with a Quicksilver Helmholtz exhaust, also from Jamie Portersí Alfaworkshop. Two very worthwhile additions.

It doesn't need a facelift. It's still achingly beautiful.
