Hello, I'm Andy.
I'm from Sheffield but moved to Doncaster just over a year ago (the things you do for love :lol
I'm getting married at the end of February.
I've actually been a member of this site for a while now but have never been on the Yorkshire section until now.
I used to have a Sprint but sold it while I was a penniless student. Now I'm a penniless farm worker but I'm thinking about getting back in the Alfa game. Keeping an eye out for a cheap Sud or Sprint or anything cheap that catches my eye.
Hopefully I'll make it to one or two meets this year.
See some of you soon.

Jayne & Derek
Hi guys, just registered on here as just aquired my first Alfa, liked em for ages so took the plunge with a '99 156 2.4 jtd, got a Zender kit on it and a boost upgrade goes like stink so i'm well chuffed. Had allsorts of cars so far, mainly japs including a skyline but i gotta say i haven't been as attached to any of them as i am with the Alfa. I live in Castleford with my lady Claire and work as a branch manager for Arco.
Been registered on here for ages but not posted til today..bored at work so here i am!
Have a MiTo 1.6JTDm Veloce in Alfa Red(almost a yr old and done 16000 miles, bedding in nicely!) and himself (Foxti40) has a poorly 156 2.5 v6 currently languishing in the drive looking very sorry for itself!
Live in Doncaster but am regularly up to Leeds on the 62 so please wave..had 2 MiTo drivers ignore me so far..not good for the self esteem!
Have already met a few of you great peeps at meets before and hope to get to most `days` this yr too..
Hi there everyone my names Roy married to Sue one grown up son, who lives in the,. dare I say south. I tell everyone he,s a missionary. I run a 156 1.8 TS in red of course "is there any other colour" had this one for three years now and absolutely love it, definately the most gorgeous looking car I have ever had perhaps even ever seen and at my age 61 believe you me I have had some, petrolhead since birth. I live in Ingleton in the dales right below Ingleborough, waterfalls, caves and all that its a nice place to live. I,m a retired service engineer and Sue is a medical secretary who I intend to keep working as long as possible.Happy motoring folks.
Hi Ian just put myself on your map, got to say looking a bit lonely out here. Must be something to do with having a Lancaster postcode, but I need to stress that I was born in the good old west riding now north yorks "not even too happy about that" and still live in the fairest county and will remain here till I snuff it. An old lancastrian once said to me "Idon,t know why you go on about Yorkshire so much, you can spit into Lancashire from where you live" to which I replied I do Bill every morning before I go to work, he never spoke to me again, what a shame. regards Roy.
hi guys im 34 and a half lol,i live in liversedge, im divorced got 3 beautifull daughters and an alfa 156 2.5, im also retired so have time to come to meets now i know where they are lol, hope to see evey1 soon, as soon as i get my car back from dews in brighouse
I'm in Liversedge too - Now drive a blue GT.
Regarding getting your car back from Dews - don't hold your breath... they had my last car for the best part of 3 months waiting for parts the other year. Not that I hold a grudge
Maybe see you around.
Just wanted to say a big hello to the Yorkshire Alfa-owning group!
I live in Northallerton and drive a 2004 156 Veloce 1.9JTD. (first diesel and although it runs on the fuel of satan can't grumble at the 55mpg efficiency - which comes in handy as I drive 60m round trip to my job in Harrogate every day! It was either this or no Alfa and continue to use the Punto!!!)
Anyhow owned all sorts of Italian cars in the past:-
Alfa 145 1.8TS
Fiat Cincquento (1998 variety - nice commute car!)
Alfa 156 2.5 V6 - SP3 (1998)
Fiat Punto 1.2 Active sport (2005 mk4 - commute car)
Anyhow I'm rambling....
Anyone going down to Brooklands on Saturday?!
(oopsie just seen the "Introduction" thread. Moderators will hopefully scoop this thread up and move into there! Apologies...)
Hi my name is Adrian. I'm 36 and a bathroom installer from Rotherham. I'm married to Mala and we have 3 children. Just had my 156 1.8 for a month now and I think this car is awsome. Looking forward to seeing some of you at the picnic on the 23rd
Hi and welcome to AO. I'm in Harrogate too and I always used Tewit Park Garage. They're near the Tewit Well on the Stray and are Alfa specialists - both guys are alfa trained technicians and used to work for a dealer before going indi a while ago. The number is 01423 567396.
Yep, as far as I know they have all the alfa diagnostic equipment. Actually they must have as they had to reset airbag lights for me on a couple of occassions. I haven't been there for a while actually as I'm currently alfaless (boo) but you will probably see all kinds of types of alfa down there from the very old up to the modern ones. One of the guys had a really nice V6 166. Wonder if he still has it?
It can get a bit cramped down there as it's down a side street. It's just off South Drive - last left before the railway bridge if your coming from the leeds road end.
Im gonna take a ride down there this morning to book me 147 in, it wouldnt start again last night, it does even turn over, seems like the imobiliser kicks in and the car is dead! so i need it sorting - i'll let you know how i get on. thanks again.
We`re t`other side of Donny in Skellow but i`ll certainly look out for you in your Giulietta.... What colour? (I know its a girls question!)
And i love my Mito... just waiting til next March til i`ve had it 2 years for a trade in price on a Giulietta...think i may faint if i get one now!
Just recently acquired my first Alfa (Rosso Red 156 2.0JTS) from my father who has just got his new Brera 3.2 Q4 (very jealous!).
Im loving the car, its a bit noisy from the front bushes but as i have read thats quite common! I live in Leeds but work near Liversedge and see a few 147s on the way in.
Still waiting for my first Alfa wave so i dont feel such a fool waving at the 147s!
Hi I'm Dave, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to post on this thread esp as I've been registered on AO for over years!!! (Probably cos I've been out driving).
I did drive a 2005 156 1.8 Turismo, until someone drove into the back of it, writing it off!!! . When I was faced with the prospect of having to get a new car I was looking at 'sensible' diesel family hatchbacks, and even test-drove a Laguna :wow:.
However it didn't feel right, and as I was driving from that dealer to pick up my OH, I drove past a car lot which had a 156 on the front, with a big 'Turbo Diesel' sign in the windscreen.
One test drive later and the deal was done. I've been on the forum a lot recently because being older than my old car (does that make sense?) it does require a lot more 'care'.
Anyway it's a 2001(Y) 156 2.4JTD Lusso, and driving it feels even better knowing what I 'might' have bought
I used to go to go to the occasional Yorkshire meet (the last one was 2006 near Bridlington), but would like to get back into that side of things in the future.
Hi everyone i'm phil i live in dewsbury, married to tracey for 10 years we have 2 kids, i'm picking up my 156 selespeed tonight i will get some pics up as soon as get it.

Thank you... Yeah the Swifts gone. 4yrs of up and down motoring, it was in the garage more times then I would of liked but hey ho I have a much better car now.
Hi to everyone in AOY. I'm Fast Frank, although you can call me Frank. I used to be a regional rep for the South of Scotland and I'm now here to help and support Ian145 (although, as Ian's been a rep for almost as long as me I know he knows wh he's doing and those tights will give him plenty of support . It's a long story and probably best not to ask. Especially if you value your sight :eye::tut::wow: )
