Hello, I'm Andy.
I'm from Sheffield but moved to Doncaster just over a year ago (the things you do for love )
I'm getting married at the end of February.
I've actually been a member of this site for a while now but have never been on the Yorkshire section until now.
I used to have a Sprint but sold it while I was a penniless student. Now I'm a penniless farm worker but I'm thinking about getting back in the Alfa game. Keeping an eye out for a cheap Sud or Sprint or anything cheap that catches my eye.
Hopefully I'll make it to one or two meets this year.
See some of you soon.

Hi

Hi guys, just registered on here as just aquired my first Alfa, liked em for ages so took the plunge with a '99 156 2.4 jtd, got a Zender kit on it and a boost upgrade goes like stink so i'm well chuffed. Had allsorts of cars so far, mainly japs including a skyline but i gotta say i haven't been as attached to any of them as i am with the Alfa. I live in Castleford with my lady Claire and work as a branch manager for Arco.

Hi Ian just put myself on your map, got to say looking a bit lonely out here. Must be something to do with having a Lancaster postcode, but I need to stress that I was born in the good old west riding now north yorks "not even too happy about that" and still live in the fairest county and will remain here till I snuff it. An old lancastrian once said to me "Idon,t know why you go on about Yorkshire so much, you can spit into Lancashire from where you live" to which I replied I do Bill every morning before I go to work, he never spoke to me again, what a shame. regards Roy.

Good Morning and Hello!

Just wanted to say a big hello to the Yorkshire Alfa-owning group!

I live in Northallerton and drive a 2004 156 Veloce 1.9JTD. (first diesel and although it runs on the fuel of satan can't grumble at the 55mpg efficiency - which comes in handy as I drive 60m round trip to my job in Harrogate every day! It was either this or no Alfa and continue to use the Punto!!!)

Anyhow owned all sorts of Italian cars in the past:-

Alfa 145 1.8TS
Fiat Cincquento (1998 variety - nice commute car!)
Alfa 156 2.5 V6 - SP3 (1998)
Fiat Punto 1.2 Active sport (2005 mk4 - commute car)

Anyhow I'm rambling....

Anyone going down to Brooklands on Saturday?!

(oopsie just seen the "Introduction" thread. Moderators will hopefully scoop this thread up and move into there! Apologies...)

Hi everyone

Only been on here a few weeks and I like what i see so far, so much so i've become a fully paid up member

Living in Harrogate and just purchased my first Alfa, a 2002 147 selespeed, which i really like.

Looking for a really good local independent, should the need ocur, so any recommendations are appreciated.

:)Hi and welcome to AO. I'm in Harrogate too and I always used Tewit Park Garage. They're near the Tewit Well on the Stray and are Alfa specialists - both guys are alfa trained technicians and used to work for a dealer before going indi a while ago. The number is 01423 567396.

cheers

Levi

Yep, as far as I know they have all the alfa diagnostic equipment. Actually they must have as they had to reset airbag lights for me on a couple of occassions. I haven't been there for a while actually as I'm currently alfaless (boo) but you will probably see all kinds of types of alfa down there from the very old up to the modern ones. One of the guys had a really nice V6 166. Wonder if he still has it?

It can get a bit cramped down there as it's down a side street. It's just off South Drive - last left before the railway bridge if your coming from the leeds road end.

cheers

Hi,

Just recently acquired my first Alfa (Rosso Red 156 2.0JTS) from my father who has just got his new Brera 3.2 Q4 (very jealous!).

Im loving the car, its a bit noisy from the front bushes but as i have read thats quite common! I live in Leeds but work near Liversedge and see a few 147s on the way in.

Still waiting for my first Alfa wave so i dont feel such a fool waving at the 147s!

Hi I'm Dave, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to post on this thread esp as I've been registered on AO for over years!!! (Probably cos I've been out driving).

I did drive a 2005 156 1.8 Turismo, until someone drove into the back of it, writing it off!!! . When I was faced with the prospect of having to get a new car I was looking at 'sensible' diesel family hatchbacks, and even test-drove a Laguna :wow:.

However it didn't feel right, and as I was driving from that dealer to pick up my OH, I drove past a car lot which had a 156 on the front, with a big 'Turbo Diesel' sign in the windscreen.

One test drive later and the deal was done. I've been on the forum a lot recently because being older than my old car (does that make sense?) it does require a lot more 'care'.

Anyway it's a 2001(Y) 156 2.4JTD Lusso, and driving it feels even better knowing what I 'might' have bought

I used to go to go to the occasional Yorkshire meet (the last one was 2006 near Bridlington), but would like to get back into that side of things in the future.

<edit> - I live in Hull with my OH Lisa </edit>

Hi to everyone in AOY. I'm Fast Frank, although you can call me Frank. I used to be a regional rep for the South of Scotland and I'm now here to help and support Ian145 (although, as Ian's been a rep for almost as long as me I know he knows wh he's doing and those tights will give him plenty of support :lol:. It's a long story and probably best not to ask. Especially if you value your sight :eye::tut::wow:;) )
