Hi all....just noticed this intro thread, bit slow this week due to a bad case of Alfa-itis!

My name is Phil, I live in Batley with my wife Hayley (soon to be divorced due to V6 GTV!) and I have two daughters age 9 and 6.

Just bought my first Alfa Romeo and i'm well prepared for all possible outcomes through a vastly varied car history!

Can't wait to pick it up on Friday!!!

Morning,

Thought I'd say hello. My names James, I live in Leeds and drive a 3.2 GT which I adore. I've had it for about 3 months and so far its great although I did have to take it back to the garage this week as they'd put in 10w-40 oil instead of 10w-60.

Before that, about 5 years ago, I owned a 155 Silverstone edition which was just superb. Sadly though it started to cost me more and more money so I sold it which part of me regrets but the GT is making up for it.

Cheers

Hello - early morning introduction!!

My names Matt - 34yrs married with a lovely 7yr old daughter - I am quite new to the Alfa thing but I have never been so attached to a purchase since I bought the car in August - I am hoping to get to a meet soon as work allows!!

This is the first car I have ever owned that has made me shout woooooooooooohoooooooooo whilst driving down the A41

Hello all, I,m Harry, I live in Batley with my partner Linzi, where we run a small motorsport merchandise & memorabilia buisness. Both Alfaholics in particular & Italian car mad in general. We run a 155 2.0 8v with full Powerflow exhaust & induction kit, otherwise fairly standard. Never been to a meeting, but hoping to soon, work permitting.
Just been checking out the pics of the Elvington show - looked brilliant! Will that be happening again?

Hi everyone just noticed you had regional forums so thought I'd pop in and say hi. I'm Marcus and you'll probably see me round Leeds, Dewsbury, Heckmondwike Batley areas though I do head down south of Sheffield on occasion ! Just bought a great MY06 black Brera 2.4JTDM after my beloved Impreza WRX died. Nice to see there's a bit of the same camaraderie as with Scooby owners hope to see you out there !!

No idea when I joined the forum, probably a year or more ago - but only just looked in here. I'm originally from Sydney but now regard Skipton as 'home', which is where my wife comes from (25th anniversary come April, so she has put up with a lot ...)

Glad to see I'm NOT the oldest in here (50th in February).

If its true that you cannot be a petrol head unless you have owned at least one Alfa, I must have been a 'bowser brain' from the off. I still remember the first Alfa I ever saw, it was a silver 105 series 'Bertone' 1750 GT. I was about 14 I guess at the time. You can judge the effect it had on me by the list of cars I've had.

First ever was a 105 series GTV2000 (I begged, borrowed and conned enough to get a one year old car with my parents guaranteeing the loan and working every weekend to pay it back). Next Alfa was an Alfetta GTV2000, then an Alfetta GTV6, then a 155 V6 and now a 156 Veloce JTS. In amongst that lot have been assorted non Alfas and a few motorcycles too.

The car I still most like was the 105 series GTV. It had a gearbox connection that was even better than the Collotti box fitted to my Alfetta GTV2000 race car.

Love the Alfa style - but I am I the only one who thinks that Fiat keeps messing up otherwise good engines with what appears to be excessively heavy flywheels and that the handling is not as good as an Alfa deserves? The cars still have character today, even if it is less so than in the 70s. Who can ever forget the Sud Ti?

I'm rambling again. Its Alfas that do it to me.

Have a good New Year everyone.

I'm a Coachbuilder by trade and generally like all things cars. In my spare time, what little there is, I make model cars and bikes and am a member of an online forum (can I put the address on here?)

I found out about this forum after bumping into Teflon Shoulder outside a car spares shop on Saturday.

Hopefully I'll get to The Old Corn Mill sometime.
