Finished at 12 couldn't be bothered today
My sons just set off to Brum for a stag do.
Having a run to York this afternoon to drop some of my daughters art work to her, she's got an interview Monday for a short placement at a school as part of her art degree course and has to show some of her work.
Took the mighty GTV for a MOT today and it failed, it failed on headlight shining too low,a brake pipe rubbing on something and NUMBER PLATES, NUMBER PLATES, apparently the space between the letters and numbers wasn't correct so I need a new set. It's a new one on me but there you go,NUMBER PLATES!. ........
Anyways, anybody fancy a run out up North Yorkshire and finishing up at Whitby ?.
The darling Jackie ( her indoors ) and me did this run last week and it was bang on !. The general idea is to make our way to Whitby but not by the usual tourist route.
I thought of meeting at The Highwayman Cafe at Stockton on the Forrest ( A64 ) just outside York and then instead of continuing on the A64 we'd do a right and down to Gate Helmsley then left and over the river through Stamford bridge.
Left after Stamford Bridge and up to Malton using the back roads ( its bang on ) .
From Malton we'll go up to the A64 and over at Eden Camp then left and through the very pretty Thornton-le- Dale ( by-passing Pickering ), up to The Fox and Rabbit pub and right over the moors to Sleights.
Over the river in Sleights and right along the River Esk to Ruswarp then up the hill to Whitby.
All in all, from the Highwayman it takes just over an hour to get to Whitby but we could stop and re-group at the car park at Horcum **** just before the moors in case anyone gets separated in the mele.
Been thinking of Sunday June 15th ,but open to suggestions if this day is no good for folks, so if anyone is interested leave some sort of feedback and I'll post a hows your father with RSVP's and the like and make it official.
Hope we can make this a goer and look forward to any imput
Kev.
