National Alfa Day 2012 is taking place on the 12th of August and will be held at Newby Hall in Ripon.
AROC have kindly invited AlfaOwner.com for a second time at Newby and have promised us a prominent area and lots of entertainment on the day.
Please read through the information below and RSVP if you would like to come
The Alfa Romeo Owners Club’s National Alfa Day makes a welcome return to Newby Hall near Ripon in North Yorkshire for 2012. Previously held at the venue in 2009, the Club’s premier event will follow the same successful format as last time, when there were over 900 Alfa Romeos present and we had over 2,200 visitors through the gates, but with even more for our members and their families to enjoy this time around.
Newby Hall and Gardens
Newby Hall is a great Yorkshire family day out with plenty to do for children of all ages and for adults too.
Explore the 25 acres of award winning gardens - including one of Europe’s largest double herbaceous borders – plus the enchanting woodland walk and the Hall itself, which epitomises the Georgian Age of elegance. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren and the home of the Compton family, with some of Britain’s finest Robert Adam interiors, Newby Hall houses a wonderful collection of Chippendale furniture, Gobelins tapestries and classical statuary.
Newby’s exciting Adventure Garden has been thoughtfully and safely designed for children of all ages – from swings for toddlers through to climbing frames and bridges, an aerial slide and pedalo boats for the older children. Get wet in ‘Tarantella’ dancing water play area by William Pye!
Take a truly enchanting ride on the Newby Hall Miniature Railway; a delightful ride which runs along the River Ure with fantastic views of the gardens. The Railway first opened in 1971, originally as an end- to-end line built by Cromar White. The line - now extended -runs parallel to the river in the shape of a dumb-bell loop. Or take a boat ride on the River Ure.
Organised by The Alfa Romeo Owners Club’s Yorkshire Section, we hope to make National Alfa Day 2012 one of the best ever. Our Newby Hall event will feature:
• Dedicated Model Parking
• AROC Club Shop
• Special Anniversary Model Display Areas starring Giulia, Alfetta, 155 and GTA cars
• A display of new models by Piccadilly Motors of Knaresborough
• The Newby Hall Driving Skills Challenge
• The Alfa Romeo Owners Club National Concours d’Elegance Competition in conjunction with MGS Coachworks
• The Junior Choice Concours Award voted for by children visiting on the day
• Large catering marquee onsite
• Live music from Newby Hall’s resident Jazz Band
• A Trade Village, with many exhibitors offering “Show Special” rates with discounts off their normal prices for AROC members
• A Children’s Treasure Hunt
• And to end the Show, there’ll be a display of all Concours award-winning cars in the Parade ring
Gates open at 10:00am with the day’s entertainment ending at around 4:00pm.
Newby Hall’s Event grounds admission charge this year is £9.20 Adults, £8.20 Seniors and £7.50 Kids on the day. Pay at the gate.
For the safety of visitors, Newby Hall does not allow dogs into the Gardens or Woodland. There is a designated dog walking area next to the picnic area, however we strongly advise that you do not bring your pet on hot days as parking in shaded areas cannot be guaranteed.
Brought to you by the AROC Yorkshire Section with our invited guests from The Lancia OC and AlfaOwner.com, we look forward to greeting you all at National Alfa Day 2012.
We look forward to seeing you there
****Unfortunately there will be no discount for AO so book your tickets direct from the Newby Hall website
