AO East Anglia - Rockingham Event - July 1st 2012

There has been some interest in an event organised by AO East Anglia to visit Rockingham Circuit for a day of watching Alfa's on track with exclusive access to the pit lane and a parade lap.

If there are plenty of Yorkshire AOers who plan to attend this event please use this thread to organise a convoy to Rockingham.

What day have people ordered tickets for? there is talk on the EA forum that the Alfa's race on Saturday, but the meet is on Sunday

The 1st July for the days events and to put the V6 on the track .... Alfa racing or no alfa's racing on that day that's got to be worth going down for a chance for us all to do a lap at rockingham .... :-)

will be booking asap we gonna set a place to meet up and convoy down?

with it being a 103 mile journey for us ( west yorkshire )

im gonna try and source a video camera and get my passanger to get some footage of us all going down ... entering the event / leaving and possibly round the track .. thats if they dont wanna go round the track themselves

Possibly meet up at the services on the M1 maybe Woodall ? ... Depending on the direction of folk wanting to join the convoy down ... Great idea on the video ...

Timetable for this weekend is now online and the Alfa's race on the Saturday at 1:35, single race weekend for them this round so nothing on Sunday.

I'm going on the Saturday, not sure from the other thread if the meet up /parade lap is still planned for the 30th still or been swithced?
(but I am getting on a bit, so am easily confused )

looking at google maps seems its just straight down A1 > 103 miles > about 2hours 10mins

so if the gates open at 9pm we want to be setting off about 6:30am - 6:45am?



what does people think?
