Cry Like A Baby damaged GTV

Following some muppet, in the early hours of Tuesday morning ramming the rear quarter panel (drivers side) of my pride and joy, and then driving off without so much as a sorry, I am in need of a decent low cost body shop for a major dent removing and a resparay. We are in Leeds. Any ideas out there please help, cheers.

Re: damaged GTV

Some GOOD news today, I have identified the driver and vehicle that rammed mine. After being confronted with the evidence he has admitted full liability and passed all insurance details to me. All I have to do now is not get it written off. Thanks for suggestions folks will be seeking quotes shortly.

Re: damaged GTV

If your claiming on somebody elses insurance I've been led to believe that their less likely to right it off.

Good luck with it and well done for tracking down the culprit.

Excellent news and well done, yup it shouldn't be a right off but if they go down that route stick to your guns on the value you perceive your car to be and keep your eye on used values on Autotrader so you can replace the car with something you actually like

Re: damaged GTV

Thanks for your good wishes, me and a neighbour noticed a car with a bit of a scuff on rear bumper, and on closer inspection found traces of red paint on bumper and trim. Tape measure out and sure enough his scuffs mach my scuffs, his trim matches my scratches etc. Knocked on door, full admission, signed statement, didn't know he'd done it !! Full insurance details are now mine and I know where he lives (across the road from me!!) As to finding one I like in autotrader I LOVE the one i've got already.

Re: damaged GTV

If they try to writye the car off, tell them you want a cash in lieu settlement, the car wont go on the register, and you can then put the money into whatever works you want. again give me a shout if you need help, we may be able to do you a report ref the value etc.
