Aaah, the joy of auto sol. Cant beat a bit of ally polishing to while away the time.
As the owner of a couple of old skool Triumphs polishing is a way of life, lol.

Might want to try a switch to Peek polish as the shine lasts longer and you can use it on chrome with out scratching it up , unlike Auto Sol which will dull the chrome after continued use.

Nice job mate,
PJ

last time i cleaned mine (twas a while ago ) i took off the cover plate that has the alfa script on it and brought it inside to wash it up in the kitchen sink! was much easier than cleaning it on the car also made getting to the rocker cover below easier for cleaning.

looks a lot better than it did on tuesday

Nice work Rob, once you start you just have to carry on mate. If you can get the whole engine bay steamed cleaned first (don't know anybody around your way who can do this for you, sorry) it will help.

Lots of people I know say dont get the engine bay steam cleaned. I guess because it could cause electrical problems? Have you ever had an Alfa engine steam cleaned?

Morning Rob, good point about Alfa's and water

I have just looked at the AutoGlym site and lifted this;

Q. What is the best way to clean the engine and bay, and then make it look new again?

A. The best way to clean an engine bay is using Autoglym Engine and Machine Cleaner.
This is a powerful, water based, biodegradable degreaser which rapidly dissolves oil, grease and accumulated grime from engines.
It is a quick and easy spray on, brush and hose off procedure that cleans all metal, plastic or rubber components, including surrounding paintwork.
To restore plastics and hoses to 'as new', spray wet surface with Autoglym Vinyl & Rubber Care, close the bonnet and allow to dry.
See the product range area of the website for videos of these products.

Just think that steam is better than cold water when in a situation like this.
