2001 Alfa 156 1.8

Mr Alfa goes Bye Bye :O(

Well today I had to part with my 156
A combination of a broken variator, squeeky suspension and intermittent engine management light means I couldnt afford to keep it, and it has been sold to be broken up.
I'm already missing it as it was my first venture into Alfa ownership and I am really scared of having to go back to a dull blue oval or Vauxhell.
if anyone knows of a really cheap alfa with a bit of T&T let me know, otherwise a life of mundane driving awaits!

I'd recommend the 146, I *loved* mine so much and it was like an indestructable donkey it just kept on going and going for miles and miles.
Although the 156 has nicer wheels...

well I am currently looking at a 145 on ebay. failed its MOT on welding around the sills, a wishbone and some bulbs, may be able to repair for (much) cheaper than I would have the other one! I genuinely have NO cash at the moment so was being slightly flippant with my request, but I hope to be back in the Alfa ownership asap.

Says he's already been offered £275 for it!! (currently at £11.50) If that is the case i think it will probably go for the £350 he wants!!

As it's only about 1/2 hour away from you I'd go and take a look at it if i was you.

There is another one on ebay selling as spares/repairs, tax and tested until Feb problem is its in Lancashire Day trip out maybe?

Good luck with the search

PS There is this cheap one on Piston Heads as well

I'm in a similar position as you rarthetgier , my bella needs a lot of work ie , clutch slave cylinder has gone , needs a cambelt service and bumper repairing and i cant decide whether its worth spending that much on her or cut my losses and get something else.
If i do decide to get rid of her it might be a case of changing to something else as with my partner not working moneys slightly tighter than i would like.

The thought of having a Vauxhall or Ford does fill me with dread though i must admit.

At 10,000 rpm , no one can hear you scream.
