4th Midlands Breakfast Club - Sunday 3rd February 2008

Morning all, sorry, I don't own an Alfa, but I do appreciate a good car and own a few, which is why I'm posting on here!
I run an event in the Midlands called the Midlands Breakfast Club. We started up at in Four Ashes, Staffordshire, meeting on a Sunday morning, where a bunch of Classic, Sports and Performance car enthusiasts could meet up and have a brew and a bacon bap and talk about cars, and show off their cars. Basically, we wanted to mirror something akin to the Goodwood Breakfast Club but here in the Midlands.
We ran the first 3 and the turnout for each one was excellent (always 50+ cars) ranging from VW's, Porshces, Ford Mustangs, Audi's (lots of Quattros!), BMWs, Alpina's, Ford's etc etc. You can see from some of the pictures the kind of cars we have had come along! Anyway, as we have grown in size, we have decided to make this into a proper monthly event, so we have come up with an agreement with the RAF Museum at Cosford to hold the Midlands Breakfast Clubs on their site. Not only that, we have had a special area put by for us lot to park away from the general public. If anyone knows it, it's the hard standing area between Hangers 1&2 and the new Cold War Museum. Entry is totally free, including entry to the RAF Museum. Use it as an excuse to get yer car out on a Sunday morning and take it for a spin, or even bring yer wife along as well, or drag your son/daughter out as I'm sure they'd love to see the mixture of cars and planes!!
One things that would be nice would be to get a good cross section of cars along to the meet like they do at the Goodwood Breakfast Club.
With my ownership/involvement with Audi's and Porsches, we get a regular turnout from these boys, and we've got plenty of Lotus coming along to the next one as well as some old Classics, and a few more sports and performance from people off Pistonheads, but what I would like to get is a nice entourage of some Italian metal!!

Please don't think I've just joined your forum to spam, I run a couple of forums myself and know how annoying that can be! I would really like to get a few of your members cars along to some of our meets! If it's good enough for the South, it's certainly good enough for the Midlands!!

here are some pics from the meets at the old venue

This is the parking area here with the Cold War Museum to the left:

There are marked parking space for around 80 cars and you could easily fit double that in the area that we have been allowed, plus there's an area down the bottom for 250+ cars as well.

This is also right next to the entrance to the main Cold War exhibition which in itself is mindblowing and well worth the visit!

This is what you can expect to see inside the Cold War Museum:
everything from Migs to Missiles, a Green Goddess and some cars )inclduing a Bug and a Trabbie, and a piece of the Berlin Wall!

125 cars turned out on a very bitter Sunday morning!

I've uploaded about 50 pics and updated the website rather than posting hundered of pics on here!

I live very near to Cosford, and it's been a while since I've visited, so sounds like an excuse for popping down next time

Yes, that was me Coxy. A lovely day, although I didn't know who anyone was, otherwise I'd have said 'Hello'. If that was you taking the excellent photos, I must say I admire your dedication to getting a good angle on them.
Hopefully see you next month, so please come and introduce yourself.

I did take the photo's........when I managed to gain some feeling in my fingertips!!!
It was rather fresh to say the least.
I was the guy wrapped up in hat, scarf and gloves with the HV vest on.
I was in the Alpina B9 (635 CSi).

see you at the next one!
