Grass snake

Just found a 2 ft long grass snake snagged up in my fruit netting.

Just spent 30 minutes cutting it free, during which time all it did was hiss, writhe and make a right old fuss

It's free now, although it does have a few loops of netting still wrapped round it, but it was the best I could do. Hope it's ok...

I did have to come and do a quick google on it before I got too close as I've not seen one before and I wasn't sure what it was. Fortunately the first image on google was about as identical as you could wish for so I knew it was harmless. Pretty little thing it was too.

The adder is the only poisonous snake in this country and they are easy to identify.
