I was listening to an ageing rocker on R4 last night. He said that whilst at school , god save the queen was sung in assembly every day. I have never heard of this happening before and it does sound a touch American.
What makes it remarkable is the rocker was Neil Young, a Canadian, who went to school in Canada.
I appreciate Canada is part of the Commonwealth but still find it quite remarkable.
