Someone also mentioned "The Bedlam in Goliath" which I got on the same day as "8". If Mars Volta's record had the same dynamic range as Supersilent's it would have been a thrilling listen IMHO. Instead the ultra-compressed wall of sound production ruins it for me.

Both brilliant albums. I listen to most of my music in the car but those are definitely albums that you don't fully appreciate until you sit and concentrate on a proper stereo. Kind of like Pink Floyd, which is terrible car music.
