Don't diss Amon Amarth until you've heard it.

I wasn't into Death Metal before I heard their music. It's truly awesome.

Re: Today I am mostly listening to

today I listened again to "I can't get behind that"
by William Shatner (yes Captain Kirk) and Henry Rollins

...very bizarre indeed but quite compulsive listening

if any of you get the chance to download it...see what you think
...I love it:xmas:

...it's funny, relentless...and quite disturbing

From his album "Has Been" (made when he was already in his early 70s) with other artists like Joe Jackson (the strangely addictive cover of Pulp's "Common People"), Lemon Jelly ("Together). His track with Rollins is superb and a great recommendation Mr Q

However, as I've posted a few times, there's a track he does with Ben Folds (who produced the album) and Aimee Mann called "That's me Tryin'" which is an extremely moving track (honest!).

Follow the link but don't watch the vid (it's one of those YT "interpretations" ) as it only detracts from fully appreciating the track.
YouTube - That's Me Trying

For me, I've had some new stuff in.......:xmas:
Cat Power - Jukebox
Miles Davis - The Complete on the corner Sessions
Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
Cerys Matthews - Awyren
Burial - Untrue

"Music can name the un-nameable and communicate the unknowable."
[Leonard Bernstein]

"Duirt me leat go raibh me breoite"
[Spike Milligan (1919-2002)]

"I'm living on a one-way dead-end street......
........I don't know how I ever got there........"

[Steven Wright]

Re: Today I am mostly listening to

shall check out some of those new ones Jed

...but can you help me...

...you spoke of Aimee Mann, I've got a few great tracks
by her, but one eludes me...I heard it while watching a film
a while back and I think it's called "That's how I knew you
would break my heart"

...I can't find it anywhere on the net to download...any ideas?

btw...the you tube connection you post is superb (songwise)
