Re: Today I am mostly listening to

Anyone remember Icicle Works from the 80's??

Hit n' miss band who showed some sparks of real genius. I think they imploded

I heard this track, "Hollow Horse", today and had goosebumps when I heard that great "power chord" chorus!
Unless you appreciate novice dressage, I'd simply "listen"to this

Just for the record - I think Hayley needs to work on her counter canter a bit

Back in the real world,

Chungking - Stay Up For Ever
Hopewell - Beautiful Targets ...ex Mercury Rev guitarists...patchy, but when it's good, it's very good!

And to finish off this evening, quite possible the most beautiful pieces of gentle poetry ever set to music. A track that means so much to me (I could happily post a whole thread just on this one song!) Thank you Nick and thank you John Peel for introducing this track/artist to me a couple of decades ago

Band Of Horses - Is There a Ghost? It goes from acoustic Neil Young ballad to My Morning Jacket rocker in a matter of minutes.
Very engaging voice/sound (video is quite good too!)

Re: Today I am mostly listening to

Just put out the last cigarette of the night and started to listen to...

14th Street - Rufus Wainwright ...always worth a dip into your ear (the better songs)

there is also a good song by him called "A bit of you"...his voice becomes addictive
