Dragging my mates to come and watch a great new band I'd found, destined for great things, come and see them while they're playing small venues etc etc...

Not sure they were amused to see a 160kg Cross Dresser
The music was fabulous and he certainly had "charisma".

They do a track called "Floodlit World" (which isn't on YT) that is in my Top 5 favourite tunes. I got into these guys through the late/great DJ John Peel's radio show. If you get the chance, please try and check out!!

Crashing is GOOD! It may be old, but it's AO's coolest
Welcome - all posts are welcome posts here. Feel free to make recommendations, say why you like a certain band, post links and generally wax lyrical about anything muso!!

Check out one of Mr Straightenout's trio, The Chameleons, if you ever wondered where Interpol got their "sound" from

Hey Iain!
I'm sure I've said before, The Chameleons had a profound effect on my life - so it is always great to know others are enjoying the unsung heroes!

Never heard Chaos God - they're Goth? From where? Worth a listen??

Your musical tastes and suggestions are more than welcome here.

As long as it isn't reggaeton, that is. I hate that "music" for more reasons that I care to count.

Anything else is fair game.

And Jed's right, this right here's AO's coolest thread.

Never say never Ant.
Perhaps a Reggaetón / Progressive Metal cross-over is being "hatched" somewhere as we speak. Metallica are always game to push the boundaries? Dream Theatre may do a concept album with Shabba Ranks??

Sorry - you're probably stabbing yourself whilst you read this.

I have to agree, Reggaetón is indeed the work of the devil (along with Dance "anthems" and Crazy Frog)

Jed, you are an evil man, pure and simple. And cruel, to boot.

And I'm not stabbing myself, but I'm thinking of a 101 ways to make you suffer, physically, mentally and emotionally.

I know it's sad but I heard Louis Armstrong today and it just made me smile - there's a couple of great clips on You Tube - Mack the Knife especially

The demise of MTV and the insurgance of Youtube communities/technology couldn't have been timed better. I find myself on YT far too often for my liking.

Satchmo is a true legend. Like the stuff he did with Ella Fitzgerald

Don't be so sure. Be on the lookout, as you're destined for some retribution, Marcellus Wallace style.

Failing that, you deserve to listen to Hootie and the Blowfish, and nothing but Hootie and the Blowfish, for a WHOLE MONTH. Even while you sleep.
