On the basis of Swamp Thing??
Ant - I could... - Kiss you
- Give you a manly hug
- Shake hands and mumble something about girls/football/trucks etc..
* delete as applicable
For the record - my all time bestest track (primarily because I'm horribly sentimental) is the wonderful "Tears". The warm harmony and poignant lyrics are sublime.
I hope you enjoy them.
For me System of A Down and M.I.A.
It's a poppy video, but check out the lyrics for the first verse!
When you go Rwanda Congo
Take me on ya genocide tour
Take me on a truck to Darfur
Take me where you would go
Got static on ya satellite phone
Got to get you safe at home
Got to get you some where warm
So you get me all alone
Her debut album was brill, haven't heard her new one yet!

Jed, I'll take the handshake.
And I'm liking it quite a lot. It sounds VERY Australian, though...
You're right, I bought it on the basis of Swamp Thing alone.

How bizarre - can you liken them to any Oz band in particular??? The Church??
They sound extremely British to me in a typically early 80's melancholic way. Still, I may be a little close to view them objectively.

Re: Today I am mostly listening to
Did you see the movie Young Einstein?? It reminds me a lot of that movie's music. I think that's the reason why.
I also have that soundtrack, BTW.

Well Done Mr Ant - a true thread "hogger"!
Do you remember your 1st post? Any regrets? No thread closure threats?
Well done mate!
A mere 256 for me - I'll catch you one day!!
BTW - had a quick look at the artists on the sountrack and the likes of The Saints, Icehouse and Lime Spiders you could well be pretty close to the mark.
Haven't seen the film.
Respect due

Re: Today I am mostly listening to
The soundtrack is great.
I doubt you'd like the film, though, and to me it's more a trip down memory lane than anything else. I saw it at the movies when it was released. It's silly beyond belief.
But still, the music's awesome, especially Great Southern Land, by Icehouse.
And are you talking about my first post on this thread or on the forum??

This thread only!!
I've always held a distant respect for Chris155 who started the thread. You must gain iconic status for starting one of the AO "top 5"
