Howdy folks... I just returned from my jolly hollies!

New York was cancelled, due to my Mrs. not really liking going to a place with a raised terrorism alert....

So, depressed as we were by our cancelled trip, we had to make up something else....

Easier said than done.... it was nearly impossible to go anywhere on such short notice, but after 2 days of travel agencies that were all unable to help me, I was saved by the wonder of Internet. I sat behind my laptop and just started typing in all kinds of destinations on www.klm.com , only to find the first 38 or so to be fully booked, except for € 4500 per seat business class tickets......
.... but then... I found St.-Martin/St.-Maarten, a beautiful Caribbean island... 33 degrees in temperature during the day, 25 at night.... very very sunny.... and tickets availiable!! Soon found the hotel to match, and 12 hours later, we were off!!!! Was so damn weird to take all those sweaters out off the suitcase in december and fill them with swimming trunks and t-shirts!!

The reason the pic looks weird is coz you're quite obviously in front of a picture, and really it's 3 degrees and raining.

Yup, it's a T610 pic.... came out pretty good, didn't it!? It has even better colors now on the 'puter than on the phone... it takes better pics than my Sony Clié (remember the two 147's I photographed in the street, and Hugo laughed at me, that mean man!).....

I haven't changed phones yet, as there's no other phone that I'd want.

BTW: I even briefly considered Malta as a replacement destination, because there was quite some availability there, but then I looked at the weather forecast, and it just wasn't warm enough this time of year..

re Malta.. yep, pretty cold atm, by our standards at least! everyone's sick as a matter of fact ... us maltesers can't handle cold

I don't know why I did that... probably because the angle in which I had to hold my arm and hand to take that pic like that was so impossible it hurt.....

It wasn't noticable on the phone's screen anyway!
