M & S now refusing to confirm or deny this. Sounds ominous, methinks...

My two favourite shops
Hope they manage to weather the storm - although I have been in both (a lot ) since Christmas, and neither was busy as it should have been at this time of year.M&S have been rubbish for years, I'm not surprised if they are struggling (don't even buy my pants from there anymore )

I've always found M&S food to be seriously over-priced, over-processed, over-packaged, and nowhere near as good as they think it is. I think they'll really struggle with people now wanting to spend less, and opening new stores sounds crazy to me at the moment

Re: More High Street Gloom....
Marks and Spencer have now confirmed that more than 1200 jobs to go, and possible store closures. We have THREE stores down here. One in the City centre and 2 out in retail parks. Wonder if it will affect them.....
