My Niece a 2012 hopeful!

My Sister just phoned to tell me they are looking to get an olympic coach and funding for my Niece

She is 16 (yes I have a 16 year old niece...17 this week ) and has been doing archery, apparently in the last competition coming within 14 points of one of this years olympians.

I could hear my sister shaking with emotion on the phone!

As it happens, someone at my workplace was the team manager of GB womens archery at the olympics.

That is brilliant news

We've all been like that over the last few months because Andrew Mayor, boyfriend of swimmer Rebecca Adlington, is the son of good friends of ours. In fact my stepson works for Andrew's dad

Hopefully he'll make the team for 2012 as well.

My missus cousin is very good at archery and has been entering (and having some success) at competitions left right and centre.

My trainee at work has a sister who apparently is the British university archery champion, she's aiming (excuse the pun) for 2012 as well.

I had no idea so many people were budding Robin Hood's

We've got Robin Hood and Maid Marion living next door to us Which is better than what we used to call them

Well hopefully she will get to 2012 with my niece and they will both do well, I don't think we did so well at archery in Beijing.
