well what can i say, it's a colourful old life....

The one I always go back to if I need cheering up is the Blues Brothers - car chases and proper music, plus John Belushi - who could ask for more? I probably know decent chunks of the script by heart now, but I always enjoy watching it.
Others:
Bullitt
Rear Window (the old version not the awful remake)
The Ipcress File
Dr Strangelove

There are some dam good films and not to mention some quite random ones! Some are definatly worth a look and some that deserve a 2nd look cus bin so long since I have watched them
Watched a good film last night that's set in Ireland with some very good music in it called 'Once'. Might not be to everbody taste and looking at my list of 'manly' favourite films you'd think not to mine but enjoyed it alot. Mainly due to the music but a good little story too

saw that film earlier this year and thought it was great. racking my brains for the title when i was writing my list . thanks for reminding me
Chinatown
Brazil
LA Confidential
The Draftsman's Contract
The Go Between
On The Waterfront
The Long Good Friday
Cinema Paradiso
Fanny and Alexander
Don't Look Now
The Dark Knight
Couldn't really chose an outright favourite.
But some are :-
Blues Brothers (not Blues Brothers 2000)
Terminator (the original)
Blade Runner
Dune
The Usual Suspects
Lord of the Rings Trilogy (has to be experienced on a big widescreen with surround sound - preferably the cinema)
can't think of others at the moment, but may do later ....
