Shooting his Bolt

I know a lot of people on here aren't Olympics fans but Usain Bolt is an absolute animal. 100m in 9.69 and he was celebrating 10m before he crossed the line. I'd like to see what he can do if he drives that extra 10m to the line.

Re: Shooting his Bolt

bolt's run was simply unbelievable. and right up to the race the pundits were saying how laid back he is, how he doesn't take things anywhere near as seriously as most other athletes. usain bolt, i salute you *

* i reserve the right to take that back if he subsequently fails a drugs test by a massive margin

Well, he is from Jamaica.

It does make a refreshing change to see someone genuinely enjoying themselves. Most athletes are too robotic and stiff with no personality. Good on him. I reckon he could make it in 9.5secs if he could be bothered.

What an athlete! Did you see his legs at the end on the slow-motion replay? How big were his strides!

Re: Shooting his Bolt

Fantastic run. Michael Johnson was saying that normally very tall runners can't get the leg speed to cash in on their stride length advantage, but Bolt seems to be an exception.

Re: Shooting his Bolt

incidentally, how fast do we reckon the 100 metres can be run? There has to be a limit to how fast the distance can physically run by a human.

Surely we must be close to that now?

Well Bolt can take it to 9.5 I think. He has proven that height=speed when applied correctly, perhaps the next generation of sprinters will all be that bit taller rather than simply muscle and we'll see times come down even more.

Re: Shooting his Bolt

I wonder what he will do in the 200M, which is his preferred event?
